hello, first post!
I've been using JS4 Standard driving SSD5, works great!

On some songs the SSD5 "ready-to-mix" sounds are a bit too processed for my tastes, and would prefer samples that are a bit more raw.

I'm considering picking up the XL addon, if it will address this. I'm curious how much processing has been done on them, and is there a way to split out room, overhead and close mics to separate outputs?

DAW: Reaper
OS: Win10

Hi and welcome to the forum,
In my opinion the "processing" is equivalent to the JS standard kits but all the JS 4 sounds are much more "pliable" due to the improved mixer in JS4. The Kits can be routed to separate mixer channels the same as the standard JS kit. The default 8 channel routing is Kick, Snare, Toms, Hats, Ride, Cymbals, Percussion, Ambience. HTH
