|
Hello,
I'm planning to buy Jamstix 3 before the end of the year to benefit from the sale.
I wanted to try the demo a last time to be sure the bug I was encountering the last time I tested where gone.
Sadly, I still have random crashes on Sonar Producer 8.5 x64 on Windows 7 64 bits.
When I click "Load Plugin" in the kit section I get sometimes this :
"Access violation at address 77AF5A6 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 0120008B."
Here is a log when I get this :

Other times, the load plugin works but the GUI close as soon as I select the plugin I want to load (Kontakt 4). Then Sonar hangs if I try to close the plugin.
Here is the corresponding log :

I also got a similar error when loading a different jamstix kit.
Everything is working fine under LiveProfessor (32 bit host).
I would be happy to provide more input if needed.
I also noticed there is beta of a newer version. If there is some way to test this beta in demo mode, I would be glad to do it. |

Hi X,
Try disabling the audio engine before loading the kit, then enabling it again. This works for me, although I am now partial to just assigning MIDI out to another track. That works very well.

X_dark, subhosting under 64-bit host often does not work. In that case you can MIDI drive Kontakt with JS as Photo_G suggested. Please note that with the demo, only the kick will play via MIDI out.
When 3.1 Beta 8 is out, please remind me to send you a demo version of it for testing. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes I read subhosting does not works great with 64 bit host elsewhere and that midi output is better to use. It is ok when I will buy the full version, but testing with only the kick become complicated.
Well I do the test with disabling the audio engine and keep an eye on beta 8 release (even though I don't see any public notice on beta 6 or 7 releases).
Thanks to both of you. |

Well, I am now the owner of Jamstix 3 Studio. Couldn't resist.
Stability is really better without subhosting. The two bugs above seems to still be present with the 3.1 beta 9. |

Other than subhosting under 64-bit, what issues exactly are remaining for you with 3.1 Beta 9? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

A full debug log of the counter stop would definitely help. Do you also get the graphics issue at load? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Anyone with stability issues, please add this line to jamstix3.ini under the [General] section:
BarIconNotes=0
and see if it helps. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok. Thanks I'll try it.
I don't have the graphic issue though (not sure what the issue is either) |
