Managed to get Superior Drummer/EZ Player Pro very cheap with some gift cards and liking them with Jamstix 2. Bear with a couple of possibly dumb questions but -
In EZ Player Pro - I wrap the player using GM and then in Jamstix 2 I highlight "Map GM" in drum module mode. Sounds fine but just wanted to make sure I got it right?
I see that there is a DFHS - Superior Drummer option for kit loading. When I go that route I get a windows explorer box opening up expecting me to navigate (I assume to Superior drummer) but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. The sounds folder has files ending in .obw. I haven't tried loading those (yet).
Have to say EZ Player Pro is great for the drum challenged like me - just been experimenting dragging/dropping into the barline of Jamstix.
Thanks.

You don't want to use the GM options, because you won't get the full range of expression and instrument choices Superior offers. Use the Superior kit mapping instead; when the explorer dialog opens, navigate to the Superior Drummer.dll file, which is the actual Superior instrument plugin, and should be located in your default VST directory (commonly C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VST Plugins), and open that. Jamstix will then subhost Superior inside it. If you want to run Superior externally, you don't necessarily need EZPlayer; just go to Jamstix' mixer tab, set 'MIDI Only', load the Superior kit, and then load Superior in your host and route Jamstix to it the same way you routed it to EZPlayer before.
