There is this one HiHat sample called 'HiHat Open Rod - 14" New Beat DP2' which I really love to use, 'cos the sound is just right for me! However, there is something odd what the Jamstix does with the sample.

For example, if I have a basic pattern where I want an open hihat on every quarter (1-4), it's often played only in quarters 1 and 3, and the 2 and 4 are so quiet you can barely hear them. I've moved all the sliders (funkiness, complexity, variance in the Hihat console) to zero, so that it should be just a solid hihat without any variance. I've also modified the velocity map, but in vain.

What makes it even more odd, is the fact, that sometimes it works just as I wanted, and then suddenly it drops the velocity of those two quarters. Is it something to do with the length of the sample? I haven't got any problem with the other hihat samples, but the thing is, I want to use this sample so badly! Smile Any suggestions? I'm sorry if I didn't manage to output my problem as a text so that it is easy to understand...

Got to the hihat panel in the rhythm tab, right-click and hold on the 'Eighths' box and slide the mouse up so that the box gets bright green. This increases the velocity of those hits.

You may also want to move the velocity variance slider in the hihat panel nearly all the way left to reduce fluctuations.
