There is this one HiHat sample called 'HiHat Open Rod - 14" New Beat DP2' which I really love to use, 'cos the sound is just right for me! However, there is something odd what the Jamstix does with the sample.
For example, if I have a basic pattern where I want an open hihat on every quarter (1-4), it's often played only in quarters 1 and 3, and the 2 and 4 are so quiet you can barely hear them. I've moved all the sliders (funkiness, complexity, variance in the Hihat console) to zero, so that it should be just a solid hihat without any variance. I've also modified the velocity map, but in vain.
What makes it even more odd, is the fact, that sometimes it works just as I wanted, and then suddenly it drops the velocity of those two quarters. Is it something to do with the length of the sample? I haven't got any problem with the other hihat samples, but the thing is, I want to use this sample so badly! Any suggestions? I'm sorry if I didn't manage to output my problem as a text so that it is easy to understand... |
