Hi there ..
new user with the product running it wrapped as Rtas in PTools.7.3
I am having an issue of what sounds like double hits producing a phasey effect.
Now this is with a very simple setup..Drumstix is on a PT instrument track, and all I am doing is running the transport with jamstix in manual jam mode.
I have chosen the simplest rhythm (16th rock) with every slider and complex setting turned down in the rhythm page.
I cant seem to get what amounts to straight playing without odd double hits or phasey sounds..
any ideas?..im sure its simple
cheers

Hello. This happens to me when I set JS as a midi input and as a midi output. But I use Cubase SX, don't know about PT. Maybe Ralph can help you more.

Uncheck 'Play Input' in the jam tab and see if it helps. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph,
sadly that makes no difference..its really odd !
Definate double hits and phasing even with everything as simplified as I can get it.
Im down to just hihats now for example, and can clearly hear it.
Out of interest, I have even tried setting Ptools to NO midi in or out on the jamstix channel...same thing !
any other thoughts?
many thanks

We had double-hits with an early beta version of the VST/RTAS wrapper but it went away with later versions. What version of the wrapper are you using? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

My suspicion is that the song positioning info sent from the wrapper to Jamstix is not precise, leading to double execution of notes. Could you do this:
- open jamstix.ini in the Jamstix folder and add these lines anywhere in the [General] section:
Logging=1
FullLog=1
- save the file and run Jamstix a bit (10 bars or so) letting it play double hits
- send me the rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix folder _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Im sure Ralph will fill you in , but after me sending back and forward various examples and files and trying out some changes , with some EXCELLENT support from Ralph, it would appear that for me it is an issue with the VST-RTAS wrapper, and protools buffer settings.
As I say Ralph will explain Im sure, but rest assured he is trying to fix it as we speak..
Again..great service ...and much appreciated !
hope that helps!

SoundHouseTup: Yes, there is some issue with Jamstix in PT7 that appears to be related to reported buffer sizes and the song positioning data. We do have a fix for the phasing issue that will be in the next update. If you send me an e-mail, I will reply back with a beta DLL. Beyond the phasing, there are still some double-hit issues as well that we are still trying to work-around.
For all non-PT users:This is all PT7/Wrapper related and does not occur in other hosts. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
