|
Pick an unused rhythm in the arranger, click on its name to go to the rhythm tab, click PASTE, select the rhythm you need, click the first box in the cymbal panel for the crash on the 1 and assign the new rhythm to bar 30.
Other options are locking and MIDI export/edit.

Do you mean fills? You can see the start beat of a fill in the selector dialog. You can also try the latest beta, which adds fill filters that can simplify fills. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm trying out Jamstix demo with BFD and Tracktion...
I (think) I am following all the directions to set it up, but I don't hear any audio from my guitar when Jamstix is on the Track. It doesn't respond in the LED either....(in Jamstix that is)
If I remove Jamstix I hear my guitar through Trackiotn just fine and she the LED in Tracktion working....
I must be missing the obvious.... nothing new here... _________________ peace,

Hi David,
Please put Jamstix on its own track and use the audioM8 plugin that comes with Jamstix on your the guitar track. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It hears the audio now, but isn't reacting ver well
I need to make some adjustments, I suppose...
Is Jamstix geared more towards midi input than audio?
thanks _________________ peace,

Yes, that is a normal one-time process. You can find more detail in the 'Free Jam Quick Start' PDF of the manual folder but here's a quick recap:
a) Use the input trim knob in the right bottom corner of Jamstix to adjust the trim. Set it so that your loudest playing makes the velocity slider just ht the right side.
b) Smoothing. That's the vertical slider next to the trim knob. This adjusts how quickly Jamstix follows changes in the audio volume.
c) Input velocity map in the mapping tab. That is your ultimate fine control as you can draw the velocity response for each volume level. This allows you to define a sweet spot for your instrument and playstyle.

Jamstix can do more real-time analysis on MIDI than audio. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Jamstix can use any VSTi DLL that is not otherwise limited (i.e. like LM7 which only runs within Cubase) _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Have you got energyXT? I think it has a sampler that you could use with JS.

I d/l the demo but never got round to trying it
I'm going to try a couple of freeware seqencer VSTis too.
Also I thought of something last night : Put JS in a Rack, let JS library do the drums I do like, set the kit parts I'm less keen on to no vlaue in the mapping tab, pass the midi to sequencer or soundfont plugin via midi filter to clean out the notes I've triggered in JS.
When I get round to it I'll see if it works
This is really to try the Kingston -rider samples (well, the 'metalwork' bits anyway) with the rest of the JS kit |

A possible issue:
Save a project with jamstix running any non-default rhythm. Then reload the project and hit play. Sounds normal. Good. Now bring up jamstix's GUI...and the rhythm jumps back to something other than the one saved.
Tracktion 1.6.
Could any T1 user confirm this please? or is T1 is too dated for running jamstix? |

Whay mode was Jamstix in when you saved the project?
Before you save the project you need to change Jamstix to Manual Jam to preserve your rhythm/arrangement.
Jamstix should work fine with Tracktion 1.6

| Podianer wrote: | Concerning the "end2end" issue. The Toneport and the PodXT-Live (over USB) let the user monitor its sound. But when enabling end2end in Tracktion one will hear both, the monitor signal of the sound device, i.e. Toneport or PodXT, and the signal which is monitored through Tracktion. So you should disable the monitoring in the certain software for the audio device, in order to avoid hearing both signals at the same time. Thus you avoid the effect of latency, which results in an echo here.
For the Toneport you can do that in Gearbox. For the PodXT Live, which I owned some time ago, you can do that in the driver application, which should be available as shortcut in your Line6 folder.
Hope this helps!

I have the same end-to-end issue as others have mentioned, but having read through this thread, I'm still a bit confused!
I think this confusion arises because sometimes I don't get the echo and other times I do - if I've changed anything, it's only by accident so I don't know what I've done!
For instance, last night when using JS, I set it up to start with (as described in the manual, with 'end-to-end enabled on the input signal, I think), got the echo. Stopped. Disabled e2e - isn't hearing the guitar input. Stop again. Randomly fiddle, enabling e2e and possibly other things (!), and then it's OK!
So, if there are two e2e functions, where are they both (1 appears when you click on the input symbol, right? - which one is this?).
I use a PodXT into Tracktion, and when it works properly, JS is amazing, but I can't figure out what I'm doing to get rid of the 'echo'! I don't use the audio m8 thing - should I?
Cheers for any help |

Please download this fix; just replace your existing Jamstix DLL with the one in this archive:
