Hi, I just bought the full version because I loved the demo so much. but, i have one problem that is starting to be a real problem. i cant seem to change parts at all in the arrangment. i can move the boxes down to select another part but then when i double click that box to see for instance rythm 2 or 3, it just shows me jam part#0 yet again. i am sure procedurally i am doing something goofy. please help

Hi kevhan

I think you can only do that in "manual" mode.

Try clicking on the rhythm name on the left hand side. This should take you to the Rhythm tab with the appropriate rhythm selected.

Hope that helps. Smile

You can do it in Free Jam, but it may generate a different arrangement each time if Jamstix is responding to different midi or audio.

The trick is to run Free Jam once, and then switch to Manual to edit the Arrangement and Rhythms.

Do you mean copy a rhythm into a different slot so that you can modify it?

yes, that's exactly what I am talking about. I see the paste button, but, now that i think about it, maybe it didnt work before because i had the free jam button on not manual, but, i just cant seem to paste one bar to another therefore i have to recreate bars that are slightly different from scratch, and that is very annoying

Here's how to do it:

- look for an unused rhythm in the arranger and left-click on its name
- click 'Paste' in the rhythm tab that has opened
- select the source rhythm and hit OK

You now have a copy of the source rhythm in the new slot and can modify it and assign it.

Ralph

Would it be worth changing the rhythm name area on the Arrange tab slightly, to make it more obvious that it is effectively a button that you can click to take to to the Rhythm tab?

I don't mean make it look like a button, but perhaps put a box round it?

how about making it a combo box where when you click on it and either select an existing name or type in a new one.
