It's working fine in Acid Pro 4.0f so far. All I've tested is midi input jams.

I cannot use Jamstix in Acid Pro 5.0a because it is recognized as a Vst effect and not as a VST Instrument. Help. Sad

I'm trying the demo with Acid pro4.0f (its the only host i have) midi input works fine, but i really want live audio in for the guitar.... the audioM8 dll is not recogized by Acid, and have failed to get Jam working without it.

You can try wrapping the AudioM8 in a VST/DX wrapper since Acid 4 only recognizes DX plugins. Go to Spin Audio, I think they still offer a free one. But even then, I don't think Acid has a way to put plugins on live input, but it may work for recording a track of audio and then using that to trigger JS.

Thanks for the tip,
Inserting the audioM8 in the track fx allows you to use pre-recorded audio.. but looks like live input is a no no.

I'm still very interested in Jamstix though Smile

I had the demo of JS working fine in Acid Pro 4F (or perhaps it's d or e I can't remember). Now I've bought the full version and it doesn't show up as a VSTi. In N-track 3.3. it shows up but then it seems to crash N on my machine.

I'm running an Athlon 2100XP with Win xp pro and 512 of ddr ram and an Asus A7S333 mobo.

I'm also using the cakewalk vst adapter. I reset it like the web page said, but perhaps I did it in the wrong sequence.

Any thoughts?

managed to get it to work in Acid using the Chainer plug-in. But you can't save pre-set's in the freeware version, so it's not a great solution, because everything is erased when you close the file.

I don't understand why the demo version would have worked more or less fine as a stand alone VSTi, but the full version is recognized at all. Strange.

Best,

JL

For all those who cannot 'see' Jamstix in Acid 4 anymore:

There's a known issue in Acid 4 which can lead to some VSTi, such as Jamstix, to suddenly 'disappear' from Acid's VSTi list. If this happens, use regedit and delete the following key to fix the problem:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry\ACID\4.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth

Note: editing the registry incorrectly can lead to severe problems. If you are not comfortable with regedit have someone else do this for you.

This is a bug in Acid 6 and affects all VSTi that have synch functions, not just Jamstix. Please contact Acid support to let them know. The more complain the sooner Sony will fix this Smile

Purchased and used Jamstix in Sony Acid Music Studio 6.0. Worked great. Upgraded to ACID PRO 6...Jamstix loads in an Acid Pro project just like in Music Studio. However, will not free jam with audio track...in fact doesn't jam at all.
Do you suppose the bug that you referred to is causing this result as well? If so, is there no known work around? say it isn't so...

There is a problem with audioM8 in Acid Pro 6 due to SPP (song position pointer) bug in Acid 6. We have an updated audioM8 that works-around this. I'll post this in other threads as well but here you go:

Thanks for your quick response.

I replaced the audioM8.dll with the new download in the jamstix dir. What else should I do? I'm not seeing any change in ACID Pro 6.

Make sure audioM8 says '1.43' in the top right corner.
Does the needle move with your audio signal?

In Windows XP, I just have a name and icon for the dll. "Properties" says it was created Feb 1, 2006 2:05:50 pm, 254KB, if that helps. The only movement I see in jamstix is in the rythm tab. The "power ride" radio button is flickering.
