Is it possible to control the complexity / funkiness sliders with continuous controllers? I have been using a midi foot pedal to vary the velocity of jamstix and it works great but I was thinking how nice it would be to vary the funkiness and complexity sliders this way also.

The problem is that changing Funkiness or Complexity requires a reset of rhythm structures everytime it happens so Jamstix cannot duplicate the jam repeatedly.

We are looking into ways to make this possible in Jamstix 2.

Well, we're going to add controller support for these values to the next beta. This means that you can change Funkiness and Complexity via the controller but Jamstix will not repeat the jam identical so if you want to capture the performance, you need to record the MIDI output of Jamstix during the jam and then feed it back later in Manual/Mute mode.

Funkiness=Controller 50
Complexity=Controller 51

The controllers for the complexity and funkiness sliders work great. I jam along and with a touch of a pedal can control the groove in any way I want without taking my hands off my bass. I love it!!!

i ended up getting the behringer FCB1010. It is working great. paid $134 from AMS.
I was skeptical about behringer products but this unit is great. You can also download an editor program free and use your pc to program anything on it so easy. I hope that helps.

Hi John,
I use a FCB1010 too. Very versatile indeed.
The various behringer products that I own have never failed me anyway.
I would love that editor you mention though (the FCB1010 sysex is a mess!), but I can't seem to find it.
Do you have a link to it perhaps?
Thanx!

Hey
Don't ever be skeptickal of Behringer... they make greaat gear at a great price.
I mean as far as high end pre-amps and mics go.. they don't even pre-tend much to be in that market...

Anything you use in your studio that dosen't affect the finished sound as a pre-amp would... and if behringer make it... it'll be good and 1/3 of the price of other brands... just look at their BCF2000 USB/Midi DAW control surface... it's 1/3 to a 1/4 cheaper than the Yamaha or Tascam equivalant !

And for things like headphone amps...stuff like that.. it's good value.

Paspallum (no I don't work for behringer!)

Actually, i have had a couple of problems with behringer gear, and their customer support (at least in Australia) is crap.

Eg. I have two FCV100 pedals with a dodgy sweep (and apparently i'm not the only one... the problem has been around since they hit the shelves, but apparently its not a fatal flaw!) When i rang their customer support i was told they've never heard of a problem with them. I tried to describe the problem to them, and was promptly told that if i had a problem i should just take them back to the store.

Well, unfortunately in the space of the couple of weeks that this happened i somehow lost the receipt, leaving me guessing behringer arent gonna help... and leaving me with two practically useless pedals.

Not to say i havent bought behringer stuff since (too much considering i'm still shitty with them), its cheap, and most of the time it works.... just be careful with your receipt
