Hi Ralph

Still thoroughly enjoying Jamstix, I thought I had everything, but whats this "Tight Funk Kit DP2"
I don't want to miss out. Smile

(Edit)To hasty, just found it Embarassed

2nd Edit.

I have just had a jam with the "Tight Funk"mapping I didn't think I had.

Yes I like it, but I like to turn the Hi-Hats volume up (especialy closed) on most of the kits, but I notice the default Hi-Hat on this kit is quite soft, even at full volume, I think it's both the closed rod HH.
Is this normal?
I know I can choose a louder HH, just wondered why the closed rod HH are quieter.
Or is there another reason I've missed.

regards

Ralph
Hows it all going?
I read the posts EVERY day without fail.

I haven't got much to 'post' about myself. I think Jamstix is pretty darn excellant.
there's a few little issues... and I'm just patiently waiting to see if they get implemented.

I'm really getting very inquisitive as to what JS V.2 might be like.

Any developements with the 'individual snare packs'?

I suppose you'll have more time for thinks like snarepaks after Jambass and J.S. v2 are released?

I myself have a nice Fender P-bass... so Jambass will not be anything I'm intersted in. But any new Jamstix products will interest me immensly!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Paspallum. We're busy with Jambassist and after that we will focus on Jamstix 2. Details will become available as we progress. For now, the main changes for JS2 will likely be:

- advanced arranger based on the JamBassist arranger
- full support for odd time sigs
- advanced free jam logic with drummer personality modeling
- flexible fill generator

No news on the single snare paks at this time...

Yes, this is by design. Rod-played hats are much quieter than stick-played. This mapping is great for funky mixes that need light, delicate and airy drums that do not muddle up the arrangement.

Z:
I tried it out:

http://theonqgroup.com/pub/audition.mp3

77.8 bpm ,left 2 bars of fx trails and Jamstix at the end.

I avoid playing the 1(one) to leave room for sumbuddy's Guitar

And I try to give credit where credit due. Couldn't've done it wihtout youz Rayzoon/JamStix folks. I like your vibe(and DrumPaks). I might even come to loaf you heehee.

Ain't 3rd Gen VSTi the gr8ist???

My playing is weak compared to the drums.

Carl

Sorry, forgot to say, I've just had my 3rd bass lesson.

Bought a Fernadez 5 string and a Tech-21 SansAmp

Great groove, Carl and your bass fits right in. Sure doesn't sound like 3rd lesson to me...

I'm still running on the x-95 beta, if I use the x-98, would it also give me the 6 and 7, or will all of this be include with 1.6 update?

You only need the latest beta, it's all cumulative.

Hi Ralph,
I was having a little pop/click in X8-13 (with a Manual Jam) so I thought I'd upgrade to X9-8. When I did so, the pop/clicks got much worse, and there are some new artifact drums introduced that weren't there before and the way Jamstix plays is 'different' than it was in X8-13... no other changes made by me other than shutting down n-track (4.1.6 Beta 2085), downloading X9-8, unzipping it, and placing the new jamstix.dll in the appropriate folder, then re-starting n-track. I even tried upgrading n-track to the latest Beta 4.2.1 Build 2098 with no luck. Thought you might like to know. Thanks,
Paul

Paul, please check your latency setting. You may need to increase it. Also, send me your jamstix.ini file + rzdlog.txt file to support[at]rayzoon.com so I can see if there's a config issue.

Hi Ralph,
Buffering in n-track is "Normal buffering [default]." Latency on the sound card is 256 sample (it's an Ego-Sys WamiRack 192X). 44.1 Khz, 16-bit. Will send the files via email. 1GB RAM, 3.4 GHZ HT CPU. Two separate SATA HDD's: one for OS and apps, the other for music. Thanks!

Hi All,
Here is my correspondence with Ralph via email. I don't think he'll mind sharing them here. Ralph, perhaps we can continue any discussions in this thread? Thanks,
Paul

1. Hi Ralph,
The files you requested are attached. Pops and clicks only occur when I am using Jamstix/VST (it's the only VST I use). Thanks for looking into this!
Paul

2. Hi Paul,
You shouldn't get pops and clicks with Jamstix at 256 samples latency with your CPU unless there is other VST load on the system. We have many users that operate X9 betas fine at similar latencies so this may be the result of the specific Jamstix/n-Track/Sound card combo on your system. I recommend you try 512 samples latency, which is a 11ms equivalent and see if the problem disappears. If so, try lowering back from there.
Thanks,
rz

My reply: I tried it at 2048 even and still get pops and clicks! Smile No other programs are loaded or running in the background... no AV, RealTime, Windows Updates, etc. Over 700 MGB RAM available. There are only four audio tracks, one of which is muted. None of them have any effects. There is a ntrack software compressor and reverb on the master channel and that's it! No other VST's.
Paul
