Jamstix looks great. I can't wait to try it!
Two questions -
How does jamstix integrate with Cubase SX? Does it just show up as an instrument, and start and stop with the sequencer, like Groove Agent?
Secondly, can I do 5/4, 7/8, etc.?
And while I'm here, does it have jazzy, rather than rock, styles?
Thanks much. |

Yes, it is a VSTi that starts, stops and syncs with Cubase SX

If Waran sees this post I'll never hear the end of it
Jamstix 1.0 is very 4/4-centric with the ability to play 2/4 6/8 and 3/4 as well. This decision was made because 4/4 is by far the prevalent sig in modern music and we wanted Jamstix to have an easy-to-use rhythm editing capability.
There have been many posts on this forum as well as E-mails sent to us pointing out the need for other time sigs and we will respond with an additional Jamstix module to support this need. Current planning calls for the virtual bass player JamBace to be the next release after Jamstix 1.0. After that, we will focus on Jamstix odd time signature support.

Jamstix is essentially a rock/funk drummer. It has its own character much like a human drummer. It does come with some jazzy rhythms and you can build your own as well. However, the fills and accents that come with Jamstix are not jazzy at all. The net result is a rock drummer trying to sound jazzy, which can yield very usable results but...it's still a rock drummer.
Jamstix is not another can of static rhythm loops covering everything from march to cha cha cha. Once you get the demo you'll see what we mean.
However, in the future, if the market supports it, we may opt to develop a Jamstix add-on module that will emulate the way a jazz drummer thinks and operates. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well I hope you can end up doing both of these. I would like to end up with a virtual Tony Williams available to play on my tracks ! |

That sure would be nice...
We have lots of ideas in that arena and if Jamstix sales support it, we will get there _________________ Ralph Zeuner
