This requires the use of the new 64-bit VST extensions as well as a 64-bit Delphi compiler, which has not been released, yet. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No, there's no timeline.
Jamstix is written in Delphi for which there is no 64-bit compiler available today and no release data has been announced by its manufacturer.
Once Vista is released, we should see more energy behind the 64-bit software market. At that time we will either have 64-bit Delphi tools announced/available or we will have to consider switching to C++, which will cost us a lot of time/resources.
It will be interesting to see how FL Studio handles this situation, as it is written in Delphi as well (AFAIK).
Just in case you wonder why we chose Delphi: it produces code that is as efficient as C but cheaper to produce. A savings that we pass on to you. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes, but srrvnnt is talking about a true 64-bit Jamstix running in Sonar 64 on Windows 64.
Now, as Wolfbayne's messages indicate, it may be possible to use standard Jamstix in Sonar 64 via BitBridge if the VSTTimeInfo issue gets ironed out. But the true 64-bit Jamstix is the project that requires a 64-bit compiler. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Indeed - I personally would like to hear about bitbridge compatibility, as I have the 64bit hardware now, but not the time to just dive in and experiment (ack! a family!). I also appreciate the major effort required to go from 32 to 64 native. Thanks for the input guys, and if I'm first across the bitbridge i'll be sure to let you know.

| Not pushing here. Very few SONAR peeps are willing to take the 64 bit plunge because of drivers, and plug-ins. I just happen to use very few plug-ins, and was pondering possibilities. |

| Nope no dice. No jala. Couldn't get it to run stable more than a few bars not to mention loading drivers was a hassel. Other 32-bit apps did not run well either. Oh well time for xp-pro. I sure hope Mr. Gates has worked this stuff out in Vista......can you say service pack 37....I thought you could. |

Sonar 5.2 is supposed to have fixed the loopback problem, still I don't get jamstix as an option for input to midi tracks. Works fine in Cubase, but not in Sonar 5.2
Have you checked this? |

I just checked this out and it works great with Jamstix. Make sure to check the box 'Enable MIDI Output' in the 'Insert Soft Synth Options' dialog. This made Jamstix show up as a MIDI input option. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Forgot to mention I did just that. Then when I looked again, Sonar had unchecked it (without telling) as if it found the action illegal. |

The dialog is for new insertions only and appears to default to an unchecked output box. Why do you think there was an illegal action? _________________ Ralph Zeuner
