Ralph,
I got the Fxpansion VST to RTAS adapter 2.0, intstalled, wrapped VST plug-ins. Jamstix can now be played as an insturment in ProTools! Very cool...anyway, the problems:
The GUI pops open, then suddenly disappears (!!), If I start clicking where the controls shold be, sections show up, and I am actually able to make the GI reappear this way...any solutions? Also, how to set up ProTools 7.1 for 16 outputs from Jamstix..any ideas there? thanks for a great product and kick-ass support...Fxpansions support is horrible, btw! |

Hi tdawgg,
Always good to hear from you!
There are GUI issues with Jamstix (and some other wrapped plugs) in PT7. Please send me the rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix folder to support[at]rayzoon.com and I'll have a look. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
I have Jamstix running in PT 7.1 pretty good...I have discovered that you can run multiple outputs from Jamstix as Insturment tracks, and I am having a lot of fun with it! I am trying to automate the velocity slider. I opened the plug-in, checked the automation box, added velocity as an automatable control, ran the track in "write" mode, and then played back, but it doesn't work...any ideas? Also, I am still having a GUI issue, but i found if i open the window, minimize the PT program, then open it back up, the GUI is there in all it's glory! thanks in advance..

That's good to know, Tdawgg!
Jamstix doesn't do write automation. Try using automation envelopes instead (if PT7 has that). _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
There aren't automation envelopes in PT 7.1, but there is a velocity veiw in the insurment and midi tracks, and it allows you to change each "slider" (buy "tick") individually, or all at once. I also use SONAR 5, and for some reason, Jamsix seems to "sund" better in PT 7. I am putting together some great sounding tracks, and I look forward to Jambassist! |

The GUI problem with JS in PT7 is a known issue and caused by the odd way PT7 treats its VST plugin window and/or the wrapper acting in between.
Most people work-around this by minimizing and then maximizing PT and the JS GUI shows up. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
