Hi folks!
Do changes made to the Fill Frequency Filters & Limits settings only apply to new arrangements, or can they be applied to existing arrangements?
Thanks

Depends on the slider: if you change the fill frequency it will affect the arrangement as you continue to jam but existing fills will stay as they are.
You can do a selective arrangement clearing of the fills only if need be.
As far as other sliders go, some change nothing in the arrangement because there is no need for it (i.e. Min Velocity). Others (i.e. Complexity) clear all rhythms and may affect existing fills if they do not pass through the filter anymore. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Sorry Ralph, I should have made my question more specific........
Let's say I select Freejam and create an arrangement with fills every 8 bars, with nothing selected in the Fills & Limits box.
Later, having made some changes to the arrangement, I decide that I want to select the [Supress Fill before beat 3] option (for example). Do I need to recreate the arrangement to do this? Or is there a way to apply it to the current arrangement?
Thanks

Got it now. The fill filter options are on-the-fly so they will take immediate effect. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I beg your pardon! I've tested it and it works great!
Sorry, for some reason I thought that you couldn't apply it retrospectively.
Keep up the good work!

A thought on the Fill Frequency slider...
It doesn't seem intuitive to me at the moment that '0' fills is hard left, one step to the right is 'maximum business' (i.e. every bar is a fill) and you have to go hard right to get the 'next most open' fill frequency.
How about looking at the scale a different way, starting with 'Infinity' hard left (i.e. an infinite number of bars between fills, = no fills), with '16' as the next step through to '1' hard right?
The current way works fine once you've got it, but it took me a while as most of the other sliders are progressively 'busier' from left to right, whereas this is the reverse (except for '0').
OK, better get off the board and get on with the day job now... |
