hey all,
well.....I've finally been able to somewhat stumble around and figure out how to arrange preset drumtracks. I gotta say, this user interface is exactly intuitive.
The problem I'm trying to figure out now is how do I save the drum tracks that I've arranged so I can use them for final mixdown?
I'm using Ntrack and I have a Turtle Beach Catalina Sound Card. I've tried saving the tracks as a midi file and then converting them to a wav, but i'm getting the feeling my sound card won't allow this. Isn't there someway to actually mixdown these tracks so they're usable other than the midi to wave conversion?
Gotta be perfectly honest and say that while this program has great sounding drums, it's so hard to use that I wish I'd researched it more. I probably would have opted for something less complicated even if it didn't sound quite as good. I guess my viewpoint is that it doesn't matter if it sounds perfect if I can't figure out how to use it.
any suggestions that might make me reconsider my decision to buy this program would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still new to this myself, but once you've created the track that you want, just record all of your other instruments and then mix down as you normally would, the drums will be there, synced up to the rest of your project.
I think that you can "export midi" if you want to save it that way, or bounce to track to get a wave file if that's what your looking for.
I'm still really new to this myself, so I probably shouldn't even be speaking on the subject.
At times, I get so frustrated with this, I start to question why I purchased it, but then when I figure out something, I get really happy and am glad that I have it. I spent a decent amount of money on this to be my final drum solution, so I'm definetly going to learn the ins and outs. Besides, for me, learning something new is half the fun, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. _________________ T-bonesplace.com |

Sorry you guys get frustrated with JS sometimes! I'll do what I can to ease the learning curve.
Jeff: there is no need to save the drum tracks explicitly for the final mixdown, just as THERAKED1 pointed out. Simply do the mixdown and JS will contribute the drums.
Please ask any other questions you have. Also, if something seems awkward or lengthy to do, let me know as well just in case I can advise a faster, easier workflow. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
