I have just bought the full Jamstix kit and am starting to use it in Sonar 5.

I'm sorry to be dim but how do I actually use the add on paks that I bought ie Brushes, Drum Pak 1 and 2, Snare Pak.

I assumed I could just click a button and it would switch to an alternative set of percussion instruments but i can't see how to do it.

I've started by playing with Free Jam.

The add-on packs come with installation guides, so first check that you've got the add-on packs installed by clicking on the About tab in Jamstix. A list of installed add-on packs will be listed under the big green Jamstix in the middle of the screen.

In order to use the packs, click on the Mapping tab, and then click the Load button near the top right hand corner. This will give you a list of mappings, and those using the add-on packs have a name starting with the add-on pack name, e.g. DrumPak #1 - Deep Snare.rdm, BrushPak Default Kit.rdm etc. Selecting a mapping will load the relevant sounds.

You can also mix sounds from different packs by changing the sample on the mapping page.

Hope that helps! Smile

Hi Alan,

Thanks for that.
Yes, I had installed the Add On Paks correctly but didn't know how to access them.

I went to the top right hand corner of "Mapping" and found the "Load" button and there they were.

That was really helpful.

Here's a small extra question...I was on the Rayzoon site and saw some Free Add On stuf I could download, which I did.

The thing was that when I clicked on the Downloaded file to unpack it with a view to dragging it into the "Add Ons" folder I found that I had two folders which were in a different "format" to the previous "Add On" paks that I'd purchased.

What do I do with them?

I hope that description makes sense.

Thanks again,

Richard

The FreePak has no benefit for you if you bought all Paks as it is merely a subset of those Paks.
