Wow. This is software I've been waiting for all my life. I am a hacker guitarist, and I put together a few chords on one track, a little lead on another, and JamStix on the third. My wife thought that I had hired somebody to play along with me. "You sound like a band!!!" she said. It get results out of the box, and sounds dang good doing it.

The intuitive UI is exellent. The arrangement panel makes song layout fit incredibly well with pretty much any sequencing software. (I'm using both SONAR and ProTools). There are one or two places where I have still to figure things out, but I am am certain those are because they are advanced topics that drummers know about, where us guitars say "what language is that".

I bought the whole shebang last week after about 30 minutes on the demo real. Worth every penny.

2 q's for the general audience out there.

#1) mappings. mappings. mappings. Long before I ever bought JamStix mappings have been a problem. If the world could agree on the MIDI note for "snare rimshot". I am certain that world hunger and world peace problems would be solved shortly thereafter. The defauts drums with JamStix are cool, but I also have Battery2 drums and Dimension Pro drums (mostly "Accoustics and Snares"), in a couple of tracks I've already laid down and would dearly love to use them. Are there mappings for these anywhere?

Just as an industry rant, I realize JamStix is just a victim of this, it really would be cool if we could ALL REALLY get behind the GM or GM++ standards that would help us all make better music, instead of futziing with the software.

#2) Outputs. Read the manuals etc. Still not grocking how any stuff can be directed to them, and I am guessing that there is a secondary q as to how they come back into my sequencing software. Only the @1 output is active and all others seem dead. Is that when I add the VST to the sequencing software, I need to specify an individual channel per output at that time? else I dunno what.

Thanks for any help, in advance. I am almost giddy with exitment over this product. So I hope you will pardon me if my explainations are obtuse.

I have the same question! In SHS4, when I add JS, I add a midi track with all four output tracks, but only seem to be getting sound from one. How do I go about routing the sounds through the other three? Is this the way that I would individually taylor the sounds of the cymbals or toms, ie..volume,eq?

In the mapping tab you have to route the different sounds (e.g. kick, snare, toms, etc.) to the different outs.
