Hi,

Here's a quick breakdown of what i'm trying to achieve here:

I record tracks into my PS04 (zoom digital 4 track) and then copy them over to Ntrack as wav files for mixing and mastering.
This works fine except that the drum loops with the ps04 are pretty crap, so having read up on Jamstix i've stumped the cash hoping that this will meet my needs.

Firstly, Jamstix loads up fine and aside from the "Keyword Jam" issue i've posted in the Ntrack topic it seems ok.
What i'm doing is adding the AudioM8 plugin one of the guitar tracks (which shows the audio input fine btw) and then adding Jamstix as a new MIDI instrument.
Now, its certainly playing back drum samples fine but the problem is they are really out of time and really out of place.
I've set the correct time signature and bpm for the tracks but still to no avail.

Am i missing something obvious here? I've been through the manual but it gives the impression of just plugging and playing...

If you need any more info then let me know and i'll sort it out.

Thanks in advance

Macca

an interesting addition to this is that jamstix continues to function in the same adhoc way even when i remove the audioM8 plugin so that it is not on any of the tracks... evidently its picking up the signal from somewhere it shouldn't...

thanks

Hi macca,

When you load the wav's into N do you set the tempo in N to the right tempo?
Jamstix will use that determine the tempo to play at.

Also have you set Jamstix to Jam with Audio and not Jam with MIDI?

It plays in time fine for me in N.
I'll be trying the latest build of Jamstix tonight when I get home. So hopefully it all works fine for me with the stereo bug and the position bug fixed.

Rich

Yup, the temp is all set correctly and its set to Jam with Audio (turned to green).

i've a suspicion its picking up the input from somewhere else as like i said it even does it when the audioM8 plugin is not added to any tracks.

Hope it works out for you, looks like an awesome app..

cheers

I had to install the ASIO4ALL driver to get it to work correctly and it seems to be ok.
The only thing is, its not paying any attention to the audioM8 plugin.
Even if i take it out completely JS still goes all the way through the song.
This means that the parts of the track still have the drums going through them when i'd rather they stop and come back in when the track i've applied the audiom8 pluginn to comes back in.

see what i mean?

thanks

Macca

Can you send a screenshot of the jam tab taken when Jamstix should be quiet to support@rayzoon.com?

Thanks!

Macca, when using audioM8 you need to set the switch in the right-bottom corner of Jamstix to 'Jam With Audio'.

You should see the red LED to the right of it light up when audio volume is detected. The velocity slider should move with the volume. Use the audio trim knob to adjust the attenuation: the loudest parts should just make the velocity hit full right and light up the Power LED. Also, there's a smoothing slider to control the averaging/ responsiveness and, finally, there's a audio-in velocity map in the mapping tab to adjust the response
curve.

Happy jamming!
