From what I have seen with the tutorials and all, Jamstix is a very promising, if not already fantastic piece of software.

n-track is the digital audio recording equivalent of a "musician's musician."
I'm building a new DAW with ntrack for doing some recording work, and if I could "ask Jamstix" to the session, it would be all the better. Imagine, a drummer who isn't tone deaf and actually pays attention to the bass player! Plus, the Jastix drummer won't forget to bring his dang footpedal to rehearsal, etc.!!!

Wink

I confident that Flavio "Mr. n-track" and the team at Jamstix can resolve all/any issues standing in the way of this working out. IMHO, it would be a match made in heaven.

To all n-Track users:

We believe to have fixed all known issues with Jamstix and n-Track except for editing rhythm names, which will be fixed in the next update.

Please try the 1.01C in the GENERAL forum and see how it works.

Hi,

I've found that whenever I try to use a "Keyword Jam" Jamstix and Ntrack both hang. The playback continues but there is no control over the window.

The other parts of Jamstix appear fine and the fixes mentioned appear to be fine in Ntrack now - other than a few issues i have myself (i'll post them in a new topic as i suspect it is me being an idiot!)

thanks

I think you have to have N's "live" button pressed in order to use the Keyword Jam functions.

The new version 1.01C works great for me in n-Track now!
picks up the song positoins right wherever I start playback and output is in stereo!!!

I just ordered Jamstix. now have to wait for the full version!!!!

Rich

BTW - I'm using a pre-recorded wav file to trigger Jamstix and don't need the LIVE button active and Keyword jam works ok for me (was working ok in the previous version of Jamstix as well)

I think you would only need the LIVE button pressed if you wanted to trigger Jamstix with a live input from your sound card inputs or midi input

Hi Ralph,
One of the reasons I bought ntrack origianlly was because it did what it said it would do without problems from the very start.

I had an hr tonight again to test jamstix and I'm sorry it just isn't working for me! I'm "mostly" intrested in the live jam feature and using your visual tortoral as a guide (the jamstix don't even look the same) I follow those instructions to a "t"and get nodda. All I get is a ladys voice saying "this is jamstix" and some fills. I've grown bored from reopening ntrack and resetting everthing to get the same results, nodda. I don't want to go over the list of things I'm doing because frankly Ralph it's all to simple. Maybe I got a corrupt download, but I've got way to many things to do, so. Ralph, thanks for all your trouble.
I'll try to download another demo version in the near future.
Tom

Hi to All:
I'm an n-Track user that goes back to before v1.xx I have been looking for a virtual Drummer for as long as I've used n-Track.. From all the talk regarding Jamstix, over on the N-Track Board, it seems to me that this could very well be the Drummer I've been looking for..

My connection to the internet is by modem and dial-up and at 56kbs.. So, downloading samples, and all, takes forever.. unless I get a friend to "Grab" them for me..

I'm browsing the Board for interesting topics, so this will take some time.. I see that there is a promotional offer of Jamstix.. for $89.00 or, do I stand corrected, on that? I'm gonna browse the Board for that topic.. As well, is there a pre-purchase offer going? Or is that the promotional offer?

I've been "Spec'ing a P-4 DAW for some time now, but I am still struggling with this P-111 and '98SE box.. However I have both...a P-4 and P-111 in operation, in my studio.. but, another P-4 is in-the-works... Soon...

So, the $100.00 + CAD. question is.... Will JamStix work for Me-and-My-Setup?

Bill..

the new version 1.02 doesn't seem to work for audio jamming in n-Track.

It is not picking up the velocity.
The red light comes on to indicate it is receiving audio but the velocity slider stays at the bottom.
Jam with audio is selected and the sensitivity is up full.

If I reinstall v1.01C and reload the song it works fine...

Hi Rich, it seems to work fine for me. Could you try it with a new project from scratch and see if it works? Also, check the new velocity tracking options (icon to the right of the velocity slider) and make sure 'Use Controller' is not checked.

Hi, Bill, and welcome to the board! The $89 pre-order offer expired on the 23th.

A P-111 would definitely be under spec for Jamstix.

I'm one of a few from the N forum who've been unable to get JS working with n-Track. Everything appears to go well...
- N sees JS
- JS is loaded as a VSTi in a new project
- WAV file is imported (acoustic guitar)
- AudioM8 is loaded to WAV track and registers input
- JS settings are changed to Audio & Jam
- Red light blinks
- I hear occasional, random drums hits as well as the chic saying JamStix occasionally

But i've yet to hear JS play a pattern. I'm running an SBLive using WDM.

Ideas?
