Am I missing something or is it not possible to have jamstix play more than one crash during a free or keyword jam. It seems that only cymbal 2 is played. I am not referring to the amount of hits I am talking about the actual cymbal sound... it would be nice to have jamstix play say 3 or 4 different cymbals along with variations in velocity of the hits during a jam.

Jamstix plays up to 6 different cymbals. Please verify that:

a) You have Jamstix 1.5 (check ABOUT tab)

b) You have cymbals assigned to all cymbal slots in the mappping tab ('Crash','Splash','China')

I had a similar question - but refering to crash hits programmed in the rhythm tab. I get a very natural variety of crashes when jamstix plays them (fills and accents when the slider is turned up), but when I program them into a pattern using the cymbal panel, I keep getting the same crash.

Right-click on a checked box in the cymbal panel, hold the button down and move the mouse horizontally. This will select other cymbals sounds and will be indicated by a color change.

Excellent!
There are a lot of details. Your help is much appreciated.

Thank you

Will this also select the ride cymbal? If not, how can one program a ride cymbal pattern or ride bell pattern?
Question

Ride patterns are programmed with the hihat panel. Just click 'Always Ride' to ensure Jamstix switches from hats to ride and then use the other controls in the hihat panel to get the pattern you want.

By the way Ralph, were you aware that when you activate the new Jam habit to make eighths and sixteenth the same style as quarter note hihats, that the ride also plays the hihat on eighths and sixteenths? This requires locking bars and going back and forthe to the Jam / jam habits window to change back and forth.

Thanks!
Now, is there anyway to get the tambourine to play through an intro? Or, at least the first two quarter notes of the intro?
I have a few bars of just tambourine at the beginning of a song and then want a drum intro, but when it gets to the intro measure the tambourine stops playing and then the intro kicks in on beat three (I think). It sounds too odd.
Thanks again! Wink

AFAIK at this time it can´t be done in Jamstix.
I would record a separate "Tambourine - only" track via Midi -Out. A bit cumbersome maybe, but you´ll get your intro to work the way you want.
