I've just finished a new track that again uses Jamstix (now my default drum plugin). It's a bit unusual as it's an electronica track.

I'm using one of the standard mappings that comes with Jamstix... can't remember which one and I couldn't find an easy way of checking which it is through the GUI, but it's one that uses the 14" metal piccolo snare.

For the impatient amongst you, the drums kick in about halfway through the tune Wink

You can have a listen here:

Floodgate

Ralph, please feel free to use it on the demos page if you wish to.

Very nice! Love the feel and the groove. That intro really works well!

That's DAMN good! And the drums totally suit it!!! No need for any of that pounding bass, lol!!!

What synths etc did you use? I've got some synths and a midi keyboard yet have to figure out how to get the notes from the synth to the keyboard! Confused

Was that played in jam mode or did you do te rythms yourself?

VERY good!

The synth used is a Roland Fantom X7 and the vocoder is the free one that comes with Cubase SX3. Jamstix was in Free Jam mode and I simply set the intro fill... I usually edit the choice of fills, but in this instance I let Jamstix "do it's thing". Other than some tweaking on the "Jam" and "Rhythm" tabs, that was pretty much it.

As per my normal working methods, I record each synth part seperately to an audio track in Cubase, then the whole thing is mixed and finally mastered.

Thanks for your compliments!

Thanks Doc!

I thought it might highlight the versatility of Jamstix.
