I have noticed an issue when I try to export a midi file from the arranger window. The midi file is created with a tempo '1' less than the tempo of the project.

Anyone seen this behavior before? I suspect I am missing something very obvious! I am using the latest jamstix version with Sonar 5.01, Win XP SP2.

I was looking at this a bit further after I posted last night. I don't think the tempo difference is causing the issue. The issue is, when I export the midi file the notes drift away from the beat markers.

For example, I have a kick note in beat 1 of every bar. I would expect the export to place this note on beat 1 of every bar in the midi file. The exported midi file has the kick note at 1:01:001. However, a few minutes into the project I am seeing the note drift out quite significantly from the beat marker to 80:01:124.

Also, when I load the midi information into the project to drive jamstix, it does not sync to what the brain is playing. i.e. if I select 'play input' but do not 'mute brain' the playback starts in sync, then the notes start flanging, and eventually distinct drum hits are heard until by the end the input is out of sync by more than a full beat.

Another point, If I just open up the midi file and view the events, the drift is evident in the note times associated with the events. Oddly, the drift worsens when I import the file into a project. The note above in bar 80 will show 80:01:059 when I just open the midi file. When I import the same file into my project the drift worsens to 80:01:124!?!?

Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot this would be appreciated. Thanks.
