I deleted the demo, but actually a the demo directory was left with two files in it. I deleted that manually. Then I installed the full Jamstix, updated to 1.01 and ran Cakewalks VST adapter. During the process I entered registration info and it was accepted.

Now when trying to start Jamstix in Sonar, it fails. I can see Sonar can't find the .dll in the jamstix demo directory. Sure. It shouldn't be looking there, but in the jamstix directory. I have tried rescanning, including rescanning failed plug-ins. Always the same result.

This install is on my laptop where I had the demo installed. On my DAW where I never had the demo, jamstix run fine.

Click on the "Reset All..." button in the VST adapter. This will clear out all the entries for the adapter so you'll be starting with a clean slate.

Thanks. It worked. But maybe some other strategy for the from demo to real version upgrade should be considered. I may not be the only one getting such problems.

Hi Tom, we'll add something to the next update that should help this issue although it really is a Cakewalk VST bug if you think about it...

Though not 100% in accordance with your license agreement, I now have Jamstix on my DAW and on my laptop. For security my DAW is not used for anything but musíc, so it is convenient to have some programs on the laptop when engaging in Internet discussion forums, doing tutorial while the mrs. is watching tv beside me etc.

Anyway, since I don't have BFD on my laptop to save space, I tested out Jamstix with the internal drums drums last night. I must say I am impressed. For sound quality they beat all the kits I have in SF2 formats, Sonic Implants or freeware. And furthermore they can be tweaked with ambience etc. Once you have fixed all the small bugs that pop up after the recent release and implemented the most wanted requests, you should consider selling add-on drum kits for Jamstix. Not to compete with BFD and DFH, but something like the present internal drums, just of a different flavor.

This is OK with us. You can have as many copies as you want but you can only use one at a time.

Much appreciate your kind words. We have received positive feedback from many users on the sounds and are seriously considering extending this in the future. Initially, we developed the sound engine and samples purely as a fallback, so it's a nice surprise.

Now back to the bug-hunt...Smile

Similar to the "book license" from the old days of TurboPascal 1.0?

-andy, suddenly feeling quite old in the PC world.

Well then you'll love the fact Jamstix was programmed in Borland Delphi Smile
