ralph, how do u rout the bfd ultra channels through jamstix outputs, does this happen automatically or can u manually choose which pieces get sent through which outputs-- previously i was running bfd by itself (i.e. not thru jamstix, but as an output for the midi channel with jamstix as the input)-- but i would like to run bfd thru jamstix-- and currently i'm getting like hi-hats through the left side of channel nine, and tom 1 thru right side of channel nine, so i can't apply effects to specific pieces -- is there some way to like set up kick as output 1, snare as output 2, etc.--thanks as always for your excellent support

Please add the line:

StereoOutputs=0

to the [General] section of your jamstix.ini file and the outputs should work fine (you need to reload Jamstix into any saved projects though for the host to reassign the outputs or you can manually fix it)

Hi

Just bought Jamstix and feeling my way around at the mo.

I was about to ask the same question, but mine was regarding standard BFD, using BFD All.

I loaded the BFD All mapping and am getting the same "tom in right side, hi hat in left side" of the stereo outs.

Does the StereoOutputs=0 apply to my situation too. Is the overhead mic in BFD not stereo though - would this be lost? Also, would this affect using the Jamstix samples?

Cheers

edit...

Also is it possible to have the output channels named automatically a la BFD?

edit 2

I've selected audiom8 as a VST insert in SX3.1 but nothing comes up in the rack.... I've moved the samples/rythms data to my sample drive since installing - does the audiom8 have to be in the same directory as the jamstix dll?

Yes, StereoOutputs=0 will fix your panning issue.

It will just be two monos.

No, because output number, format and name are determined and 'discussed' with the host when Jamstix loads. Subsequent VST loaded into JS must use the current schema.

In SX it is easy to load BFD separately from JS and then just add a MIDI track with input=JS and output=BFD to make JS drive BFD. In that case, you should also load a BFD mapping with 'MIDI Out Only' checked so the keys are in BFD format. This solves the panning and naming issues.

Why should something show up in the rack? The rack is for VSTi. Am I misunderstanding you?

Wow, cheers for the fast reply - much appreciated.

I'll just load up BFD and control it with Jamstix with MIDI - cheers for that.

The rack I mean re the audiom8 is the insert effect slot rack in the SX3 mixer. I tried to select the audiom8 as an insert effect but it doesn't appear.

Cool

If audioM8 is not in the list then it is not in a folder that SX scanned. Please move audioM8.dll in the same folder where Jamstix is and restart SX. That should fix it.
