I want to chime in only to say: Thank you!
But: The update link leads me to Jamtix Update 1.42 ???
EDIT: Nevermind! I should hit the "Refresh" button of my browser once in a while... |

Wow. Even by your standards that's exceptional support!
I had a disaster last night where I completely freaked out Cubase and locked up my PC by setting up a midi feedback loop through Jamstix.
Even tho it was user error, I came on the forum today to post a request for some sort of safety cut-out to protect me from myself. I can only congratulate you for building it into 1.5 before I even new I had the problem!
Thanks for the other updates too - look forward to trying them tonight... |

Ralph,
Jamstix is a fantastic tool and indespensible to me, but the arrangement window editing capability kills me.
I'm yearning for a full song view with drag and drop style cutnpaste editing and undo. The way I use Jamstix, working in the arrangement window, trying to replicate verse, chorus and bridge sections on the fly is time consuming and prone to error. This is the single biggest deterrent to my productivity when using it to build songs.
I know the basic functions to get the job done are all there, but it isn't intuitive or easy......
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but please tell me this is coming soon. |

Thanks Ralph.....that is wonderful to hear.
In case you want some input:
I think a similar drag and drop capabilty like you have in most sequencer apps. As in sequencers you can mouse drag select single or multiple loops and move them around to measure/bar start positions. In this case, you'd just be selecting cutting/pasting/moving around percussion whole or fractional bars/measures. I'd certainly settle for whole, if fractional is too problematic.
That capability along with an editor view that could be set to a total number of measures or minutes the user estimates the song would be in length. Pulling and using the project/song length already set in the sequencer would be even better. That view would not be tied to the current location of the position marker in sequencer application, and would allow the user to see edit the entire percussion arrangement of the song in one view.....the 'big picture' if you will.
Then of course a limited or unlimited undo would ice the cake.
Thanks for a great application and for diligently working to make it better.
Do you have a target release date for v2.0? |

Thanks for the suggestions. The arranger of JamBassics will be the foundation for the arrangers of Jamstix 2 and other plugins that follow. It will allow odd time sigs, pattern compounding, undo, zooming and fractional loops although we may have this optional (default bar-aligned) in the first JB release.
Jamstix 2 has no release date and Q4 2006 is the tentative release range. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
