Absolutely agree. We are trying to improve things in JS2.
Have you tried the new 'Family' function in JS 1.5 that reduces the sample list to applicable ones?

If I may give my 2 cents here... Some time ago, I requested adding 2 arrows next to the mapping list.. You implemented them in half an hour, and the effect is great!!
Perhaps these 2 arrows would perfectly fit next to the second list, where the instruments are selected. So, with a single click, one could switch through all the snares available, if the family button is enabled!
How's about that?

Just bought it, received the email delivery, currently downloading 
(after the release of jam-bass) will you build a high hat & ride pack? the second most characteristic sound in a drum is indeed HH for me and it is also the most difficult to sample...
Also, is it possible in JS2 to have the top and bottom snare sounds splitted in 2 different channels so that the mix of the 2 can be adapted to the mix? something a la DFHS...I am a control freak when it comes to music...Am I the only one????

First priority, as you pointed out, is Jam Bass. After that we have Jamcussion and Jamstix 2. As always, we'll try to parallel develop expansion Paks as we go along. We'll have to see how much demand we'll have for BassPaks and also how many SnarePaks we'll sell. SnarePak is much more 'specialized' then the other Paks and we'll consider a 'CymbalPak' as well as the even further specialized 'Black Beauty' and 'Radio King' Paks as the numbers develop.

Can't be done with SnarePak because the bottom mic is mixed into the close mic stereo signal. We are considering separation for the possible future single-snare Paks.

OK - Snare pack is here and already doing the business - thanks Ralph - it's a great addition to Jamstix. I like the idea of the buttons for stepping through the kit piece variations.
Thinking about further possible addons - after snares, hats and kicks are pretty fundamental to most beats.
Something else that might be fun is a pack with some less standard substitutes for the major kit pieces - eg roto toms and frame drums in place of toms and hi-hats with tamborine on top, floor toms as kick drums etc.
BFD's 8BK is a pretty good source for some of the above but the approach to recording those kits was highly unusual - with Jamstix these sonic variations should be able to blend right in with the rest of the kit. These might be just the ticket for cooking up some different grooves. |

I am already holding my credit card on my hands waiting for jambass, jamcussion, jamstix 2, and all the other *jams* your are gonna be able to pull out of your hat! see, in a world of big careless companies, it is refrashing to deal with a company like Rayzoon .

Yes, we are thinking about things like that. We have a possible scenario for roto-toms with tune-logic. Tambourine on hihat can be done in an update, just like 'Tambourine On Snare' in the percussion panel today.
We have also developed the outlines of "ePak", which would add electronic drum sounds+processed drum sounds for modern dance, trance, techno, hip hop etc.

Do you mean the filter and auto load buttons?
Yes, using those it's much easier to navigate!! |

| I downloaded the snare pack... The recorded snares are so good that I can now put away BFD...amazing for only $19. My question is that on the anouncement it says 120mb of snares... after the download and unzipping and checking the size of the downoad file there is "only" 60 MB. Is there something I have missed? |

There is perhaps something you have missed. Ralph puts the samples in this highly compressed archive, that you downloaded. Thus the download time is as short as it can be. Jamstix itself extracts this when loading the next time. Then you have all the samples extracted in their associated folders. The AddOn file is not needed any longer. I deleted it from the Jamstix/AddOn folder and kept a copy for backup elsewhere.
Hope this claryfies your questions about the size of the downloaded pack!
