| When I start my host app (Tracktion 1.6.0.1) and then load a project that already has JamStix on a track, JamStix loads its sounds, etc. just fine, but when I go to the Mapping tab to refresh my memory on what drum mapping I have, the name is there where it is supposed to be for a split second and then disappears! If I load a mapping, the name stays there throughout the session! It only happens when JamStix is already on a track when you load up a project. |

Yes, that is a point of much contention
The thing is that one may load mapping X a the beginning of a project but then modify it (altering sounds, volume, pan etc.) throughout work and its associated project save/load cycles. The mapping is now no longer the same as X so we shouldn't show it as X.
We are thinking about some new functions that may help, such as a sound list preview in the mapping load function and a list function in the mapping tab so you can quickly see what is used in the mapping. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well, in many programs as soon as you modify the contents of a file on screen, the name changes to "Filename *" or something easy to see that it's been modified.
I'm assuming in your code you can tell when someone has changed a slider, etc. So you could change the name that is displayed to reflect that, and then write the name to the ini file so that it would be displayed the next time that project is loaded.
I guess if would get cumbersome 'cause you'd have to have a line for every project. |
