Hi Ralph
I just noticed that when I try to do a audio mixdown in cubase sx3 with a jamstix track that use DFHS samples, jamstix goes in to midi loop protection mode after one or two bars. I tried the same with beta 8-7 and then it worked fine. Then I tried 8-13 and 8-14 with internal samples and again it worked fine but as soon as I try DFHS samples it goes in to protection. As I said 8-7 works but not 8-13 and 8-14 |

Hi Ralph,
X-13. Just re-installed Jamstix after some problems with my DAW... but I don't think that's the problem! I ran the setup on Jamstix, then loaded n-track Build 2042... I don't think that's the problem either! What IS the problem is when I brought up n-track after the Jamstix install, it of course asked me if I wanted to install the Brush Pak then Drum Pak #1 then Drum Pak #2. Well, I wasn't paying attention and while Drum Pak #1 was installing I went ahead and clicked on the button to install Drum Pak #1, in essence installing it again (would have thought the forked pop-up window would have been modal but doesn't seem to be). Anyway, when I loaded ntrack I was getting a VST pop-up "Plug-in not installed: jamstix [ID = 10ZR]" so I uninstalled Jamstix via Add/remove then re-installed. Now when I load ntrack I get no notification to install the Paks, and jamstix is not in the VSTi list. Any ideas how I can cure this? Thanks,
Paul |

I think I got it Ralph although I don't know why it's behaving differently. I ran the setup file again and removed then reinstalled. Went into ntrack. In the Master Mixer section there was a checkbox titled "Don't show VST instruments" and Jamstix was in the list. Why Jamstix showed up in previous installs and not now is a mystery. Also, I wasn't asked to install any of the Paks but when I opened a song that was using Jamstix a lot of Jamstix drum stuff was installed. So, I THINK I'm ok!

Hi Ralph,
can you have a look at this. it's nothing major, but the limb priority thingo doesn't seem to apply to the manual cymbal parts when playing a fill. uh... i should elaborate. if you put cymbal hits into a rhythm (manually in the rhythm tab), these seem to keep playing even throughout fills.
If you fill out all of cymbal hits (ie all 1/4 and 1/8th notes) in a rhythm which i do sometimes to make things really heavy and chaotic, and play a fill with this rhythm the cymbals continue to play right through the fill.
i just said the same thing 3 times i know, sorry if i'm not sufficiently articulate right now, i'm very tired...! |

Hey Ralph,
I have something you might want to add to help you debug stuff! How about a button that when you click it, it (1) changes status to "Auditing" and (2) starts recording screenshots as well as audio. When you hit the button again the status to "Not Auditing" and allows you to save the file. We could then post the file so you could see and hear what's going on. might help with problem descriptions.

Hi!
I noticed in the last beta (X8-15) that when I am in the percussion options dialog and only push right mouse button and drag it, I get the percussion and can change the velocity as well, but the box don't get the green "light".
Errr... I didn't make any sense did I? I think my point is that I'm not sure if right cicking on the boxes should activate the percussions? And if it should then there a bug of not changing the box green. |

Some instability...
I've had a couple of locks with the latest beta version and x8-13. The lockups have occured in both Podium and Tracktion.
The Tracktion issue might be also be related to the T2 upgrade which has changed some screen functionality, but I'll have to spend a bit more time with it. With Tracktion if I bring up the Jamstix interface, it will lock on the screen without actually pressing the lock button. The only way to get rid of it is to restart Tracktion. It only happens occasionally and I'm not yet quite sure what triggers it. It happened the 1st time with 8-13, but happened again with 8-15.
I've been doing a lot of testing with Podium and I 've just about made a decision to migrate to it from Tracktion. However, I have had one instance Jamstix would lock on the load, and another instance where the system just an out and out rebooted. Once loaded everything is fine however and I do not the interface lock with Podium that I saw with T2.
I will spend some more time with both to see if I can pinpoint the problems.
Cheers... _________________ darcyb62 |
