Thanks for the thoughts over at Cakewalk. that was a great suggestion. Oh for my question.
1. With Multitrack Studios, everytime I open a song with JS in it it goes thru the gyrations of loading the drum sounds, then hunts for a .dll file in a folder and i have to tell it to stop (I.E. click the X) and it then loads the drums sounds again. Is there a way to fix some of this?
2. JS seems to take up a lot of CPU in MTS far more than in N-Tracks, (but N-T is far to unstable for me)
3. I still can not figure out how to make JS start and stop while playing in free jam or manual jam with a midi drum track. |

Please elaborate on the 'hunts for a DLL file'.

That's an MTS issue but please try the latest beta to see if it helps:

Also, increasing the 'Voice Reduction' slider in the mapping tab can help a lot.

Not sure what's left to tell you about that one Whatever key is assigned to 'Jam Start/Stop' and is received via MIDI input will start and stop the jam if the checkbox next to it is active. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

What i mean by hunts a .dll file is that it looks for a mapping i guess in the mapping folder. or sometimes other folders at random, but most of the time the mappings folder.
Also I guess what i mean on the stop and stat, is that I don't understand how to tell the program what key , or to assign a key to a song, I read that you click the piano icon at a certain point, but I am still foggy on all that. |

You pick a key on your keyboard that you want to use, go to the jam tab, click the key on your keyboard and then click the piano icon next to 'Jam Start/Stop'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I am not using a keyboard, I am importing Midi file completed into MTS.
As far as screen shot I can't do that it would let me do anything while that screen is up. |

Do this: take a new project, add Jamstix and add a low MIDI note to the Jamstix MIDI track (outside of the playing range). Now play the track so the note gets sent to Jamstix. Stop and go to the jam tab and hit the piano icon next to 'Jam Start/Stop'. You can now use the note to start/stop from the MIDI track. Remember what note you selected in the host and what note is shown in Jamstix (they may be one or two octaves apart).

Just hit 'PrtScrn' on your keyboard. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
