I spent two days at NAMM and couldn't find Rayzoon or Jamstix anywhere. Did I miss it? Was there an announcement stating that Rayzoon would not be there? I really missed the chance to see a good demo.
Anyways, the guys demoing dfhSuperior LOVE Jamstix!

Too bad you weren't there. You coulda blown some people away. Oh well, maybe next show.
It was snorezville over there with all the loop this, and DJ that. Everybody just copies everybody else. No real innovation. Plugins everywhere.

I imagine that Rayzoon's non-presence at NAMM is simply down to costs. I have no idea what a stand costs, but the non-NAMM member registration fee (i.e., get you in the door) is $150, so I guess the stands cost a small fortune!
Anyway, when you have a unique product like Jamstix, there is little need to spend all that money, word-of-mouth promotion will be just as effective. We all like cheap software - and most would agree Jamstix is a bargain - to cover costs like NAMM, we'd end up paying a lot more. |

Cost is a concern but it's also the fact that very small companies like Rayzoon have to close shop for the duration and have a lot of preparation to do for an effective display/demo. We just didn't want to do this as we are behind our Jam Bass schedule as it is.
Furthermore, NAMM is also a lot about distributors/retailers and getting your product in their pipelines. Since Rayzoon is at this point fully self-contained, there is less incentive for us to commit to the expense of a NAMM display.
This is likely to change in the future as Rayzoon will carefully expand. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
