Is it possible to use the arrangement window to arrange a drum track e.g intro/bar1 etc etc/ fill/fill2/ending then save it as a midi file without having to run thro the whole track from beginning to end? how?

Also I did a jam with it using guitar and bass but experienced several drop outs in the audio of the guitar and bass. I had jamstix arranger window open when I recorded them, would this cause it?

This jamstix thingy is huge! does so much more than I thought it would

You need a single run-through so Jamstix can make all its 'decisions' based on the host input provided etc.

Please try this inofficial beta version of the Jamstix demo, which has significantly reduced Jamstix window CPU usage, which may solve your problem:

When it has run thro once, you have to save as midi file straight away yes?

It would be nice to have the option to use the arranger to make a track and save as audio or midi file.

I know..... I'm odd!!

thanks will try the demo

I'd recommend that, yes.

You could also just freeze Jamstix to get the audio.

will try the demo

Be advised that MIDI export and output are limited to bars 1 through 4 in the demo.

the drop-outs have dissapeared! I think I had somehow created a midi loop (seem to rememember big crash type thing after session) but obviously on reboot it solved itself! I remember reading somewhere on here (I think) about not having inputs enabled when in manual mode? as it causes a loop? may have been that....

still not tried the ver2 beta demo yet as wife in hospital Sad

Yes, a MIDI feedback loop can do that. The latest beta demo has feedback protection built-in (to avoid crashes or CPU spikes) but you still need to make sure to not have input and output of a MIDI track set to Jamstix as it points to faulty track logic.

Please ignore the 1770 demo and use the latest beta demo instead: http://66.235.201.50/demos/jamstixX8-13demo.zip

I'm very sorry to hear your wife is in the hospital! All our best wishes for quick recovery are with you guys!!

Yeah, I have to agree... this forum is brilliant!
Everyone is so helpful, and Ralph is so quick with his responses!!! (He must have no life!!! Laughing )

I've been on lots of other forums (Cubase, especially) and you get a lot of smart remarks from people who think you're stupid for asking a question.

Keep up the good work,
Richard
