Whenever I change the sound of Crash A all cymbals have the same sound.
The old key is still shown, when I select other cymbals. But pressing the Audit button plays the sound of crash A.
the sound is only changed, when changing Crash A. Changing crash B, chinas or splashes, doesn't have any effect - all cymbals keep the sound of crash A.

the ride is acting similar to the cymbals. when i change the key of the ride, the ride bell, albeit showing it's old key, is playing the sound of the ride. changing the ride bell key has no effect whatsoever.

Also only the verlocity map of crash A, respectively of the ride, is used.

this is not a problem with the used vsti (i use dfh2), as the midi events jamstix creates are wrong (checked using midiout).

i recently updated to 1.42 and had these problems ever since (at first i thought something might have messed up my mappings, so i didn't bother checking why only crash 1 was played). I tried everything i could think of, loading old mappings, closing and restarting jamstix, to no avail.
I'm not sure what version I had prior to updating, but i think it was 1.32. I just don't understand why noone else has mentioned this before, i mean this is a major problem. I just can't imagine that I'm the only one dealing with this. And I hate the thought of having to switch to an older version to get rid of it.

I'm using jamstix 1.42 in Cubase SX3 (Win XP SP2, AMD X2)

I'd be deeply grateful for any kind of hint or help.

ps:

I haven't tried the x8 series yet, since nothing about my problem has been mentioned in the beta thread. And as said before I'm kinda puzzled this has gone unnoticed.

ok, i'm now pretty sure it's a bug in jamstix.
Just tried the latest beta (build 1756) and release 1.32 with another host. And it's the same problem. 1.32 works fine, 1.42+ doesn't work. i haven't tested any other releases just 1.32, 1.42 and the latest beta build, though.

Just to clarify: does this problem occur with internal sounds or with using DFH2 via MIDI-Out?

Furthermore, just to nail down the steps:

- go to mapping tab
- make sure 'Map GM input' is off
- select Ride and change key
- Ride Bell now plays Ride

Is that correct?

Andy, if you do have the problem with DFH2 via MIDI-Out, please try this Build and see if it fixes it:

Ralf, many thanks for your quick response.

I didn't have much time for testing, but it seems to work consistent with 1.32 now. (i figured it had something to do with choosing internal or a subhosted vsti). the crashes work fine. However, I noticed another problem with the ride. The original problem is gone, but while ride bell now only plays it's own sound. Ride is alternating between the ride sound and the ride bell sound. It's rather inconsistent, but it's possible to reproduce it. And it only happens in midi out mode, internal sounds work fine.
Thank you again for solving this so quickly.

Greetings,
Andy
