Jamstix (beta X8-11) is inserting intros and endings at random places (well, that sounds dramatic, i've had 3 so far).
Is this some setting I am unaware of and may have accidentally switched on?
Or is it a bug? |

What mode is Jamstix in when this occurs? What host is this in? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I've had it happen in both key word jam and manual.
Host is Plogue Bidule. |

Please check if you have trigger keys assigned to intro and ending in the FIE dialog. If so and these keys are triggered via MIDI input, it would explain the behavior. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Andy, the bug you posted about has to do with the automatic sound switching in Jamstix. When Jamstix thinks you have no Crash B it will use Crash A. If it thinks you don't have a ride bell assigned, it will use ride etc.
I posted in your bug thread so we can handle that particular issue there and get it fixed. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Make sure 'Map GM Input' is NOT checked in the mapping tab. |
It was indeed Ralph - thanks for the tip. |

Just posted X8-12 which has reduced interface CPU usage. This type of CPU usage does not show up in the host CPU indicator because it is not in the plugin audio thread. However, it is visible in the task manager and can contribute to popping/clicking and the need for higher buffers/latency.
Please note that this CPU usage only occurs when the Jamstix window is open. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph,
I have another feature request for you. Anyway WE can tell Jamstix what bar to consider the #1 bar? That way we can introduce any number of measures before that and we don't have to use our fingers and toes to do something like "let's see, I started on bar #3 and I add 8 bars and that comes to 12... no, wait, 8+3 is 10, no 11." Okay, it's not that bad (and neither is my math) but it would be nice to stay in the 4+8+8+16 type realm...

Paul
Have you noticed the Start Bar setting at the bottom left hand side of the Arrangement tab?

Alan, the 'Start Bar' controls the root for the fill placement only.
Paul, I'm not sure exactly what you are describing. When you say 'consider as #1 bar', what exactly would that mean? Do you mean actually displaying bar #1 in the bar counter even though it may be bar #5 in the host? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes, something like that... I know, it's weak...

If you really want that you can add the line:
BarOffset=5
to the [General] section of the jamstix.ini file.
This will cause Jamstix to show bar 6 if the host is on bar 1. Change the number as needed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

We just released X8-14. This is our release candidate for Jamstix 1.5 on 02/06 so as of now we are in feature freeze mode. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
