Hi !
Is there a way to audition the rhythms in the arranger window ( by just clicking on rhythm segment) or do you have to hit play on the jamstix window or host app ?
Thanks

Select the bar you want the rhythm for in the arranger window (it will be highlighted in green).
Go to the Rhythm tab.
The rhythm you have loaded in the arranger window for the bar you selected should be in the Rhythm tab.
Click the little lock symbol in the bottom right corner.
This will loop the rhythm and not move the arranger from the current bar.
Edit or load whichever rhythm you want.
Note that whichever rhythm you end up with in the Rhythm window will be loaded into the slot of the arranger window that the original rhythm was in.
This means that if you were using that rhythm for other bars as well it will now use the new rhythm.
So if you don't want that to happen make sure the bar you select in the arranger window has a rhythm not being used in any other bar.
Hope that last bit makes sense... should be clearer when you actual do it and see it in action...

thanks for the reply Rich, if i save the rhythm as a different name and then edit it, would that preserve any other instances of that rhythm in the arrangment ?

Saving it as a different rhythm name will prevent overwriting the original rhythm... but it wil still replace whatever rhtyhm was previously in the rhythm slot of the bar you had selected in the arrnager window.
So if you want to keep a particular rhtyhm to use in an arrangement make sure you select a bar and then select a rhythm slot that is not being used elsewhere.
Hope that makes sense... |
