If I'm working on a song where I need a simple, rock and roll type beat (like The Cult or Guns N Roses, or Velvet Revolver, etc), and I need to keep the beats simple and basic would it be best to jam in Free mode with low complexity and funkiness as well as agressive behavior, or simply to use a keyword jam using "simple" and / or "rock"? What would give more predictable results?
I just want to keep a simple(and unobtrusive!) rock and roll beat going as I jam, and later after recording the guitar or bass, I can focus on letting Jamstix loose to jam with the recorded audio
Vielen dank!
BTW, where in Germany is Rayzoon tech located? I lived in Hamburg for a year, and was wondering if you were a part of the crazy Hamburg music software scene (like Steinberg, Emagic, etc). |

I would recommend either:
a) manual jam. pick a fitting simple rhythm from the library and get the track going with it. Later you can add a few alternate rhythms and manually switch them on for a few bars in the arranger as well as add intro, fills and ending.
b) same as a) but you would use key word jam to let Jamstix pick several rhythms and let it place them as it wants and then later hand-edit the arrangement.

Rayzoon is located in NC, USA
But I was born in Berlin so you could consider me a remote part of the crazy Berlin music scene like Native Instruments and Ableton _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| An alternative approach, which I have found works well, is to program a basic pattern in midi and then let Jamstix embellish it. |
