Hi,
while recording a new drum track with Jamstix, I noticed that Jamstix plays one beat ahead compared to Cubase (SL 3.1.1). Was X8-5, tried with or without the M8 plugin, with checked or unchecked offset button, no luck. Then I completed deinstalled Jamstix, reinstalled 1.42, and all notes were placed on the beat again - up until I wanted to rerecord some bars and, too bad, again one beat ahead (I did not change any settings). You can clearly see it while watching both bar meters of Cubase and Jamstix.
This is a brand new project, I removed Jamstix, reinserted it, same fault.

There must be some special circumstance when this miscalculation starts.
Restart of Cubase does not help, nor does rewinding the transport to the beginning.
Could not try X8-10 because an error or exception message shows up in the status line of the arranger (maybe related to fills).

Regards

Maybe the issue is related to the M8 plugin: removing and reinserting the plugin just helped to resync, lets see how long.

There were some synch issues introduced in the X8 series that are fixed in X8-9 and later. Please try X8-10 again. If you get the FIE error in the arranger tab, please send me your rzdlog.txt file to support at rayzoon.com.

X8-10 does not really fix it. Everytime I start Cubase, Jamstix is out of sync. After replacing the M8, it is fine again. Is version 1.3 of M8 correct ? Does it matter where it is placed if I don't use the dynamic feature of Jamstix ?

No exceptions so far, but the log has entries like "32-0: FIE:2".

Please make sure 'DSP Offset' in the mapping tab is not checked.
The FIE log entry is normal.

Also, if you do not use the 'Jam With Audio' function then you do not need to have audioM8 in the project at all.

Oops !?
I thought I need it.
Without both settings there is no sync at all.
You can see how Jamstix resyncs immediately after "DSP Offset" has been clicked.

I'm confused. What exactly does the synch do with 'DSP Offset' off?

I start playback and watch both meters of Cubase and Jamstix - synchronized.
As soon as I disable "DSP offset" Jamstix seems to loose contact and the one-beat offset is produced.

But I need the offset anyway for the latency compensation ?

Do you have DSP-based plugins in the project?

Please add this line to the jamstix.ini file (GENERAL section), reload the project and see if it helps:

SupportTimeSignatureChanges=0

This requires X8-9 or later.

This setting disables the logic needed to detect time signature changes within a song which complicates the synch logic.

No, does not help, same behaviour.

Please send me the rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix folder to support @ rayzoon.com.
