|
|
Bought Jamstix as the Jamboree pack the other day & just installed it
My Main Question;
Are RXP files specific to Jamstix? Can files other than RXP be installed in this 'Addons' folder?
Can outside vendor drum packs (hopefully multi-velocity drum samples) be installed into this 'Addons' folder? ...Say Drum Kit From Hell Sample pack, etc, etc..?
I also just installed all the drum packs #1, #2, & the Brush Pack, which 'seemed' to go ok. I unzipped the drum packs before burning to a CD, in which I coppied directly into my 'Addons' folder, but haven't yet tried the drum packs.
Thanks, Steve |

..Oh, and another question for clarity... concerning the 'Addons' folder...or the 'Mappings' & 'Load' ... I see various files when I click on 'Load' , some of which are from Jamstix, some are from BFD & DFHS ...for a second I thought maybe Rayzoon was including a few sets from BFD & DFHS, but in trying out the add-on drum packs in the Jamboree, I was unable to play Jamstix when BFD or DFHS...so I take it these are only maps, so that in the future I can use these maps to control those other programs....
Am I understanding this correctly?
If this is true then if I was to try & use DFH #1 samples, I could not put those outside vendor samples into the 'Addons' folder as I had asked above...?
But if not, I think that would be a nice option in a future Jamstix update
Sorry for the extremely dumb questions, but I'm new to Jamstix & VSTi's in general |

You are understanding it correctly: these are only maps to control those other 'programs'. And you indeed can't put other files in the Addon folder than RXP. Well, you can, of course, but it won't have any effect...
BTW There really is no benefit in adding the option you proposed: you can control BFD or DFH with Jamstix just the same already, so... there is nothing to gain. On the contrary, there is much to lose, because you would only be able to play the dry samples in that case, and you will lose all the options the programs offer (like mic-placement and so on). |

Thanks again J van E for your clear answer to my somewhat unclear questions ...and thanks Ralph for the confirmation
As I said, it would be nice to be able to load them directly into Jamstix without having to use an additional software. Would that be particularly hard to implement into the program in a future update? Man, after one night of install, I'm already redesigning the software
But as said, and I know that I can always use a sampler/player like the DR-008 for any samples I may have or Rayzoons potential future sampler/player.

Sample import is something that is half on and half-off the plate for the future. We'll see. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Gotcha' ... The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or maybe even just the one in my case |
