Oh, and on a new installation of the latest download given, do I need to use the Jamstix 1.42 update or is this download contain all the latest...I was assuming that it was for previous versions...?

Additionally, this note;

"Please note that Jamstix is not compatible with DEP in SP2. If you are running Windows XP SP2 and Jamstix crashes during start-up, please use this fix"

Huh Confused What is DEP & SP2? Embarassed Do I need it for Cubase VST 32/5.1 with Windows XP 'home' ? Or will I need it when/if I upgrade to Cubase SX3?

Well, since support responses may be as long as 24 hours until January 3, I'll give it a try! Wink

The download contains the latest official release, which is 1.42. So no need for an update. There is a newer beta-version though, which you can download or should be able to download when you've bought Jamstix. Read more about it here:

Current Beta Thread: Jamstix X8-10 (Updated 12/26)

For more information abut DEP, see this topic:

Hey thanks J van,
Downloaded all Jamstix links & seems ok, though I've not installed Jamsticks yet. Thanks for those links! Cool

So it seems that SP2 means a Windows Service Pack if I understand correctly, which I'm not sure I have, though when I checked my computer I did have a listing for a 'DEP'.

I read part of the Beta Thread, I'll continue reading, then decide if I should use that Beta just yet...? Thinking I should get familiar with this latest official release 1st.

Steve

Additionally I read this link about the update.

This is a smaller update with several enhancements and fixes. Most of all, this update is needed to install and run DrumPak #2.

Jamstix 1.42 is now available here:

Detailed information on what this update implements can be found here:

Thanks to all the beta testers of the X7 series!

Thanks, J van E! Smile

ZapAxe: the DEP is only an issue if Jamstix always crashes at startup on your machine.
