We have 57 VST automation parameters already. Another issue is that the rewind button is not a state but a trigger. VST automation is not good for triggering as it is often used with envelopes for state or value control.
It might be best to use a MIDI controller for this function. Would that work for you?

A (sample precise!) trigger wouldn't be a problem from Bidule. MIDI CC would seem a grand detour from my point of view. But that would be workable too I suppose.

I know you have a lot of exported parameters already.
I'll ask again if and when I have a more specific request (apart from the transport controls).
