Is it possible to use Naturalstudio's ns_kit7 with Jamstix? I'm really impressed with Jamstix and I also like the sound of the ns_kit7 drum kit. Thanks.

Certainly, just load NS-Kit into a sampler of your choice (Battery, Kontakt, DR-008 etc.) and feed JS's MIDI out to the sampler.
If NS-Kit has GM mapping, load the GM map in JS and you're done.
If NS has its own mapping, build a custom map in JS (easy and quick) and don't forget to save it.
Cheers, Rhino

I used the soundfont version of ns in sfz - select sfz as an external vsti and load the ns_kit soundfont in to it - and Bob's yer thingumy

If you are talking about the commercial NS7, that requires HALion 3 so you would route the MIDI output of Jamstix to the MIDI input of your HALion player.

Hi Ralph,

In the Cubase-Forum I read about your plans of creating a special mapping for the NS7-Kit. How far are these plans? Very Happy

I'd like to use Halion Player with Jamstix and the Mod-Wheel being integrated..

We have not pursued this any further because NS7-Full requires HALion 3.

That's not so good news to me! Sad NS7 Kit also works with Halion Player, which is about 90 Euros. I bought it recently. Is it possible for anyone else to create a mapping that integrates this nice kit??

Why not create your own mapping?

Just load the HALion DLL into Jamstix, load your desired NS7 kit and walk through the sound list in the JS mapping tab changing the keys to match the NS7 kit. Save when done.

For now you'd have to do that manually in your MIDI track on the host side.

Ok, thanks for answering. I just saw your post on cubase.net and thought I could ask! Smile

Anyway, Jamstix challenges me everyday! And that is a compliment and not a complaint! Smile
