hi,
i was playing around in SONAR to see if i could use jamstix without using the audiom8 dll and discovered that inserting jamstix into the FX bin of an audio track crashes SONAR.
this occurs whether you set it as a DXi synth or a tempo based effect in the adaptor (yeah, i tried it both ways... )
ok, now i know that won't work, but thought you might like to know about the crash since it might happen to someone who accidentally tried this and lost their work...
and oh yeah, using the latest beta 0.99Q.
thanks. |

Yes, we know about that crash and we will fix it once the release is done. We have classified this as a minor bug since no one is supposed to use Jamstix that way anymore.

We just checked this out again. The crash only occurs with Cakewalk VST. DirectiXer works fine. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just to let you guys know you may run into an issue with the initial install.
when you uninstall the Jamstix Demo it leaves a key in "HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk VST Adapter\Inventory\ C:\ "The Path to your VST Plugins" \jamstix demo\jamstix.dll" delete this entry and Jamstix should load fine in Sonar.
Ralph, the Gui seems to be a little sluggish , otherwise works great... |

I couldn't get the demo working even with directixer. I'm running an AMD 64 3200+. Would that be complicating things?
What happens is that as soon as jamstix finishes loading, the computer reboots. |

Ouch, haven't heard that one before!
Do you have MiniHost? (http://www.tobybear.de/p_minihost.html)
That would allow us to see if Jamstix runs fine as a VST outside of Sonar. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Also, what ASIO driver are you using? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I have an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile.
I'll download that program and give it a try.. |

Generally, when an XP machine reboots spontaneously, chances are you are having a driver problem/conflict. It won't hurt to install the ASIO4ALL drivers (www.asio4all.com), which will happily live aside your existing drivers and select them in Sonar to see if it makes a difference. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It did work under the other host.
Maybe I have my latency too low or something, I'll check that. Then I'll try the Asio Driver for All bit.. |

| I'm not sure that jamstix is actually finished loading now that I've seen this multiple times. Screen goes black as the words "loading (sounds?)" are displayed. I never see the Jamstix GUI. |

Don't know where to post this one (Sonar or BFD).
When I run Jamstix along with BFD in Sonar 4, BFD (stereo) won't load up any kits or the pictures in the GUI.
This only happens to BFD stereo
Any advice?
Cheers
