Hi all

My CPU sits just under 20% with Jamstix subhosting Battery.

Just wondering if theres any tips on lowering this load (not hardware related), not sure if its Jamstix or Battery that takes up the most CPU, if it is Battery, is there other drum modules that take less CPU besides drumatic? actually, is there any industrial sounding or orchestral sounding drum modules about?

Cheers all

Please send me your jamstix.ini file from your Jamstix folder to see what can be tightened up (support at rayzoon.com).

following on from this I was wondering what you would expect the typical CPU load would be for say a default/blank project with no audio or midi and just jamstix loaded and ready to go.
or does this vary greatly from host to host
I suppose it also depends on how you have the voice reduction set
I'm beginning to think that this is a pretty un answerable question as there are too many variables and I should just shut up.

I looked at the ini file and you have 16 outputs selected. This increases CPU load as more buffers have to be passed to and fro even if they are unused.

You can:

a) Reduce outputs to minimum necessary to run Battery

or

b) If your host supports VSTi MIDI output routing you can load Battery outside of Jamstix and drive Battery with JS via MIDI rather than subhosting. You can then reduce the JS outputs to the minimum 4.

Make sure you use Jamstix 1.42 or a later beta as they will tell you if you have too few outputs for Battery without crashing.
