I will send you a beta demo DLL via PM. See if that fixes any of your issues.

You mean trigger a fill on a specific bar from the host? You can do that by assigning a note trigger to the fills in the fill selection dialog and then trigger that note in the host when you need a fill. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I have a similar problem.
When resetting the play position to zero in Bidule (rewind), js rewinds too, but has trouble getting into sync again.
Example:
I'm keyword jamming a 6/8 rhythm in 6/8 time.
When starting from 0.0 all works well.
After a while I hit rewind (in Bidule). Now js rewinds to 0.0 too, but counts 1,2..1,2 a couple of times before geting into 1,2,3,4,5,6 again.
From then on the tempo is ok, but the beat count is offset by a couple of beats.
If I hit stop first, then rewind and then play again, the same thing happens.
If I hit stop first, then rewind, next hit rewind in the js UI and then play again all works ok.
I could possibly work around this using Bidule's excellent parameter-linking feature, but the js transport controls are not available!
So, could you please make these parameters available?
And, now that we're on the subject, could you please expose as many js-internals as possible to the outside world?
I can see a perfect marriage coming from this! |

The X8 betas had some 'improved' math code that caused rounding errors that messed up the synch logic for various time sigs. Please see if this Build helps:

No.
If anything, it made things worse
And -stupid me - I've overwritten the old .dll. Any way I could get it back? |

Which version were you using before? Also, please send me your rzdlog.txt file from the Jamstix directory. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I was using the v1.42 update.
No beta just yet. I'm only starting at this.
Mailed you the log file. |

I'll chew on the log. Please use the 1.42 updater to get you back to your previous version. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Could you try 1756 again but this time add the line:
SupportTimeSignatureChanges=0
to the [General] section of your jamstix.ini file before loading Jamstix.
Let me know if that helps. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I very briefly played with this and it looks like it's better than originally now.
There's still a little confusion at first, but when js catches up, the bar/beat count matches the corresponding bar/beat count in Bidule.
I'll try some more tomorrow. |

OK, I played a little more.
Most of the time, it takes 1 to 3 bars for Jamstix to display the same bar/beat info as Bidule.
Typically the first bar the bar count goes 1,2,1,2,1,2.
Second bar will count 1,2,3,4,5,6 but the bar counter may still be at 1.
Third bar sometimes too. Fourth is usually ok.
I also noticed that when doing <pause><rewind><play>, Jamstix sometimes (but not always) gets it right from beat #1.
When doing <stop><rewind><play> or just <rewind> it's always "wrong" for a short while.
This happens with manual, free or keyword jam alike.
I'm still on b1756 with the extra ini-line.
Hope this helps a bit.
I humbly ask your attention for my original post:

Do you mean you'd like a VST automation parameter for the rewind button etc. or are we talking MIDI CC? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

VST automation parameters.
For the transport controls to start with (because it would possibly work around this issue), but really for as many parameters as possible. |
