Since I am utterly impressed by Bidule, here is a thread for those who use it with Jamstix.

If you haven't heard of Bidule, do yourself a favor and check this link:

hello,
tried the demo "jamsticks" with bidule from plogue. Version 0.9 and 0.9001 of bidule show the same behaviour.
after starting bidule:
1.) load jamsticks
2.) take sync transport from misc (bidule)
3) sync jamsticks to sync transport (bidule)

all works fine, but when i press the "go to start" button on sync transport ( |< ) then jamsticks dont do that it goes on. play, stop ....works fine.
some told me with jamsticks 1.42 full version it works, is that a problem ot the demo version?

Hi madmax, I'd like to check this out but the latest Bidule demo doesn't run on my test machine. It shows the splash screen and then disappears.

Maybe Greg Holmes can answer this question?

I've looked at Bidule a few times... It's still loaded on my machine, but I could never really figure out what to do with it. But then again, I would sooner be playing with the music than playing with the technology behind the music. Am I offbase with the assumption that this is more of a technology behind music creation?

There will be an updated demo in a few weeks but try out this beta of the new demo. Just rename your existing jamstix.dll for backup purposes and then copy this one in:

Not surprising... I don't know what I mean either...
I guess I'm just not sure how a person would use Bidule, but then again I haven't really tried to do anything with it...

The latest Bidule and the latest Jamstix both work fine for me, but this thread at Plogue is the place to watch:

Hello Max, hello Greg,
Nice to see you here!

Hello Darcy,
I'm pretty sure most Bidulists are musicians rather than technicians.
If you are completely happy with the possibilities that the average sequencer/multitracker application has to offer, you won't need Bidule.
If, on the other hand, you would like full freedom (and responsibility!) to tweak your audio and midi streams exactly how you want them, then Bidule is just the thing!

Hello Ralph,

When changing the buffersize in Plogue Bidule with v1.42 of JS loaded, I get this error message:

"An error occurred during the data load after "Data Load Init" with message: Access violation at address 00601881 in module 'PlogueBidule.exe'. Read of address 102CF830"

After that, JS continues to reload the samples and when that is done the whole application exits without further warning.
Over at Plogue they don't recognize the error message (although they say the problem may very well be with Bidule anyway).
Does it mean anything to you?
Plogue cannot reproduce the error with the current JS demo.
Above I read that you have problems with their demo as well.
Maybe it would be a good idea if you and the Plogue people exchanged (- non-demo and up to date -) developer releases for debugging purposes?

Just an idea. I'd really like two of my favorites to work together in perfect harmony...

My tongue in cheek response would be: don't change buffer sizes with JS loaded...I know this is not a solution but certainly a work-around for now.

Would you believe I thought of that myself already? Smile
The whole issue isn't a big problem to me as it is.
Something is wrong though.
I thought you'd wanna know..

Yes, thanks for letting us know and we'll see what we can do about improving JS and Bidule harmony.

hello Ralf,

i tried the demo-beta version-some things are strange

- load is allways over 40 i think that is right Smile
- during "key word jam" the velocity slider dont move
- same problem as described in this thread, but now more specific: during "play" all works nice. when i press in bidule the "go to start" button, jamsticks will going to start (pos. 1.1). when i press stop in bidule, jamsticks stops too. when i press then "go to start" bidule goes to pos 1.1 (like it should do) but jamsticks doesnt go.

ok, thats all for today, anyway i will try the demo some days more and then going to buy this tool Smile
is there a way to force jamsticks to play a fill directly via midi cc or note on in jam mode?
