Two things: I have not figured out how to record Js once it is in an audio track (either via fx bin or synth rack). In Sonar 4 it seemed to work: I just echoed and recorded it where it was. I have tried echoing, I've tried sending it out CH3/4 on my M-Audio Omni (Delta 66) and record it from inbound CH 3/4....
Second: I managed to get Js stuck on the first measure. I have no idea how: it never goes past the first measure and effectively repeats the same beats (notes/pattern) for the entire song. It happens every time I load the preset I saved. I don't need to fix it as it turned out to be a really good thing for the one particular song...I am more interested in knowing how to repeat it! I can save out the midi but then I lose the tempo/velocity changes during the rest of the tune (past bar one). The song is in 3/8 by the way....
Next is can I run multiple Js with different settings? In a brief attempt with the one bar version above, it seemed like changing one would alter the other (not verified)...I suspect it is because all midi is omni and I need to channelize stuff, eh?

In Sonar, I recommend you add a dummy MIDI event (controller or note) to the beginning of the song and another at the end in the Jamstix MIDI track. Otherwise Sonar thinks Jamstix isn't playing anything.

Now you can freeze Jamstix, which will give you audio clips in the Jamstix output returns.

Can you send a CWP that produces this to support @ rayzoon.com? Also, could you send the rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix directory?

That's dangerous territory for JS. It only supports 2/4,4/4,3/4 and 6/8 at this time. If at all possible, try to run it as a fast 3/4 instead. This might also fix the first bar hang-up.

I do not recommend using multiple JS instances. Please tell me what you want to do and maybe I can help make it happen with a single instance.

I will forward all the data (file attachments) you need.
Song is in 3/8 and I am adding in drums for it. I know it doesn't really 3/8. I can try 6/8 and see what happens.
I just installed 1.42(?) last night and have not fired it up yet. Maybe I should uninstall 1.42 and use whatever I had so I do not lose that stuck measure. Unless I can get the whole out as a wave or midi (midi would be better actually), although I do not have directixfier (whatever), just the sonar version.

I managed to record it okay in Sonar 4 and I didn't peg the track with start/end tags....

What I was trying to do is add some normal drum playing to this tune. By accident I got a tom festival thing going for one measure...almost sounds jungle...and it just relentlessly builds tension like a locomotive for the first 2/3's of the song. It also sounds pretty good at the end (about 8 minutes long). So I was thinking of keeping it. I tried to run two Js's, one to play that single measure throughout and was going to try and get the other to do the drum track. If I could get it to spit out the midi I hoped to tweak it into time. I don't mind editing drum tracks. I just cannot stand to draw out every note and then find it sounds horrid, etc. I figured I could try lying about tempo and bar length and see if I could still get some interesting multiple: 6-12/8ths.
Anyway, it looked like I'd not be able to record the Js one bar throughout, so I was going to insert another for a new pattern (conga player and drummer) and it looked like the 2nd changed the first, then the first changed the 2nd...so I wondered if giving them each separate channels would help. Dual drummers would be cool anyway unless their randomizations were in total lock-step (i.e., pseudo-random).
I can ftp/tightvnc/email the files you want. You can look/see whatever else is of interest as well.

Cheers!
A

You can always save your current Jamstix state to a FXB file using 'Save Bank' in Sonar. You can also save individual rhythms via the 'Save' button in the rhythm tab to the library. Furthermore, you can save an arrangement with rhythms (but without mapping info) via the disk icon in the arranger title bar.

You don't need 2 JS for that. You can either switch to 'manual' jam' and then select the jungle rhythm for the desired bars and select other rhythms for other bars. Or, if you want to stay in free jam, lock the jungle bars via the lock command in the arranger so Jamstix won't change them anymore.

You can use 'Export To MIDI' in the arranger tab to save the track to a MID file that you can import into Sonar.
