(I am using SONAR Home Studio 4 XL (with VST Adapter), and jamstix 1.42)
I am hoping this is just a simple thing that I am missing.
I recently purchased the jamstix, after trying the demo. I had a very simple setup with an audio track driving jamstix. This worked fine. Now that I have installed the real version, jamstix does not seem to respond to the recorded audio. It receives the timing information but just plays as if there was no sound.
I did try a setup of audioM8 to listen to live input and that works.
I tried it with a simple MIDI drum track and that worked too.
Should I need audioM8 for recorded tracks?
I don't see any way to direct the output of a track to jamstix.
thanks! |

Hi and welcome to the board!
For an audio jam in Sonar, you do need to put audioM8 on the audio track that has the audio information (either live or recorded).
Jamstix automatically detects audioM8, wherever it has been placed in Sonar, and will process its information.
Hope this helps! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I have an audioM8 in the effects section of the track (a basic guitar rhythm). It is still just playing a very basic hi hat pattern. The only changes come on the 8 bars.
I did check the audioM8 display and it is showning a signal on the VU meter. It just doesn't seem to be reacting to the sound. I tried muting the track to see it that made a difference but it doesn't seem to.
I have Jam With Audio turned on. The trim knob is set to the far left and the slider is all the way down. In terms of Jam settings is there a better on to test things out? (Free vs Manual vs Key Jam?)
I have Allow Reduction turned off.
Are there other settings I could adjust to test this out?
The frustrating part is I had this working with the Demo version.
Thanks again!

That's a problem right there. The input trim knob should be in the middle position. Turn it left only when you have too much velocity response. Turn it right if the response is too low. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ah, I knew it would be something very simple. That seems to have done the trick. I look forward to much learning about the tool. It is apparent I need it.
Thanks again, and again.

Glad it's working!
Unfortunately there is a learning curve with Jamstix. it is inevitable with the scope of functionality it provides and the amount of fine-tuning it must provide to accommodate a wide range of users/usages.
I'm here to be of any possible assistance! _________________ Ralph Zeuner
