I've read through the posts and a lot of people have had this problem, but seem to have solved it and moved on -- without explaining how!
I downloaded the demo and it was fantastic, but I am completely stuck with the full version.
I'm trying to get a free jam going in tracktion but failing.
I have set up a single track with the AudioM8->-Jamsticks filters, and then selected this channel to accept the recording input (SB Audigy NX).
The sound from my guitar registers on the AudioM8 filter but in Jamstix all I get is the blinking red LED saying a signal is coming in: the velocity bar stays fixed. This is not a volume issue - I've cranked it to 11 and it still won't budge.
The second problem occurs when I press play. AudioM8 then dies too, and although I can hear the sound coming through, it immediately kills the audio input on audio m8.
I've done all of the obvious things - it's recording audio, the cut-off level is ok - but am getting nowhere. The odd thing is that I used precisely the same set-up with the demo and it was great.
I am also having some pretty terrible problems with latency - but will worry about those when the first issue is fixed.
Any help hugely appreciated. You can guest on my 2nd album. |

Please make sure the velocity slider is not locked. The lock icon above the slider must be open. If it still doesn't work, please delete the jamstix.ini file in your Jamstix directory, close & reload your project and see if that helped.

Please make sure your audioM8 says '1.3' in the top right corner.

Could you send us the rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix directory to support @ rayzoon.com? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the swift response.
I have managed to fudge a solution which may be useful if anyone else is stuck, and could also pinpoint where I'm going wrong.
The main problem was that by setting the audio input to loop (end to end), the track was feeding back into itself and quickly overloading. (This, despite setting the mixer recording input to line/mic and using headphones).
I have now set up a dummy audio-in track to control Jamstics:
Volume filter (MAX) - > - Audiom8 - > - Volume filter (MUTE) - > OUT
This way Audiom8 feeds over the mic input to Jamstix (on a separate track), but is silenced before it can feed back.
This works ... but has something of a bodged feel! I have to set up a separate track to actually record the audio (and the 2 are never exactly in synch).
It also means that only the audio recorded on the dummy track affects Jamtrax.
Any further assistance appreciated. |

That is very odd. I only know of this happening with cards that have 'What you hear' recording sources (i.e. Soundblaster, Audigy). Please double-check things and also what audio card are you using?

Your audioM8 has a mute button built in. Also makes sure it says 1.3 in the top right corner.

That is always the case. Only the audio that reaches audioM8 will affect Jamstix _________________ Ralph Zeuner
