|
|
Hi,
Great product trying to understand it better. Having a horrible time using 1.4 and BFD w/ BFD Deluxe. When I try to use external sounds when I open jamstix as a vst instrument in cubase sx 3 it dies every time and pick any of the BFD DLL files. I have to reboot the pc to recover the asio driver. I tried using the midi out and then bfd on the midi track but the map is all off. I was hoping to have this seamless I must be missing something? |

Which BFD DLL are you using?
Most BFD crashes in Jamstix occur when BFD Groups, BFD All or BFD Ultra is used and not enough audio outputs are selected in Jamstix.
The next Jamstix update will intercept this more gracefully and properly inform you without a crash.
Also, since you are using Cubase, you can also run BFD outside of JS as follows:
- load Jamstix into VST rack and go to mapping tab
- check 'MIDI Out Only' (so JS won't load the DLL, only the mapping) and load your BFD mapping of choice via LOAD.
- load BFD into VST rack
- add a MIDI track with input=Jamstix and output=BFD
Jamstix will now drive the BFD in the VST rack. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Thanks for the fast reply, I will try what you recommend. I manually set the output to 9 and used BFD groups and my asio driver just crashes. Ive tried all knids of combinations. I have to reboot each time, drag. Also noting a studder and the program does not keep up with the time and tempo of cubase sx 3. Not sure why... |

Please send me the rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix directory to support @ rayzoon.com. Also, what CPU and RAM do you have?
Does Jamstix run fine without BFD in Cubase?
Does Jamstix BFD by itself, triggered via MIDI, run fine in Cubase?
Finally, what soundcard and driver are you using? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi
I had the same problem of BFD mapping not lining up with the BFD.all mapping and then I changed the Bleed channels on BFD to Default and then "Bleed to direct". Everything lined up fine after that. Tip - hold shift when setting any BFD setting to default and it will return to "factory default" rather than the more impermanent "default" |

I will look for the log and copy and email. Thanks again for the help and suggestions. I like the program I just have to work out the details. |

| It appears this is because I had the setting wrong... I opened BFD All.Dll with 4 outputs...I changed the setting to the max 17 and can open bfd using vsti. Thanks for your patience with me and my learning curve. |

No problem! The next update will intercept this scenario and you would have gotten a message saying "Sorry, this plugin needs 9 outputs" instead of crashes. So, it's really our fault
Please note that more outputs means more CPU usage so I 'd recommend you go to 9 outputs for BFD All and use the 17 outputs only for BFD Ultra. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
