Hi there,
Loving Jamstix, but am a little bit confused about the arrangment settings...
I normally use jamstix's audio m8 plug on audio and record a midi perfomance of jamstix ( bfd) and edit afterwards in sx3.This is probably the easy way (not getting the most out of it) but i find jamstixs' options confusing....ive read the manual but i still dont understand sections of it.
After recently reformatting my pc, jamstix is behaving differently;In maual mode there is a fill every bar!.....after resetting the arrangement and turning the fill off for each bar off ..they are still there......Please how does this work? Ive tried using the arrangment section for structure but it is so confusing.
Also how does the learn feature work? I figured press learn, then play my audio through audio8 , then unselect learn. Now after this, i cant change the snare rhythms...i can change the kick rhythms fine but not the snare
could someone please help!!! |

That's quite odd. What version is shown in the ABOUT tab of Jamstix?
Also, does this happen with new projects as well as saved projects?

The Learn function operates with MIDI not audioM8. While the light is lit you can play drums in GM layout on a keyboard routed to Jamstix and Jamstix will try to match the basics of your groove. You must also play in synch with the host.

Thanks.I look forward to midi real time groove recording later on with learn mode.
I was using jamstix 3 and everything seemed ok(youd have to select manual jam to hear jamstix working whiled jaming to audio8 or midi)...Then installed jamstix 4 update.....I cant seem to get rid of the fills.....They happen every bar

Hi,
Im using version 1.32 again now after my format. (pc, xp, cubase sx3, sp1)......The problem of fills every bar is only on an old saved project, thankfully, although it would be great if there where some more tutorials around....Are there any on creating a whole arrangement and how to use all the options.(sorry but i find it all so overwhelming)((i am not a newbie at music production but find jamstix very filddly.)
On an old tune i had the midi performance edited and structured in cubase sx3, but the open hihat responds differently now....doesnt sound smooth.
Im constainly recording midi while tweaking jamstix, just incase i trigger something amazing)------dont get me wrong, Jamstix is incredible..especially with BFD , but im not getting the most out of it. I would love to be at a stage of knowing how to use the arrangment part and all the options....i can t even work out how to stop the rthyms changing every few bars...even after ive disabled arrangements and reset it....

Hi ...i cant seem to download the avi tutorials..i click on the link and nothing happens...when i right click to do save as, nothing happens..

Hi there,
Ive just created an arrangment using Disco =' disco take' +'disco take 16'. Ive put in two fills in over 8 bars. Now when i go playback, each red-blocked bar vertically falls down a level from disco take to disco take 16, some turn pink and random fills are added. ?? Is this ment to happen? Do i need to turn on 'lock' in the arrangement section to keep my structure solid?

Switch to 'Manual Jam' in the jam tab to keep Jamstix from changing the arrangement.
